M100 Rear light covers - Remanufacture

Postby M100TURBOFR » Thu 09.05.2019, 16:23

Hello all
As proposed by Dave (Clemo), am moving the Final List - formerly in Hood/Top, Bodywork & Fittings (See link below) - to the Group Buys section since we have finally reached our minimum required quantity of fifteen (15) pairs (slightly more in fact). Perhaps this will prompt other potential buyers.
I will be proposing a closure date shortly. After this, we will proceed - subject to finalising shipment/delivery/packaging - with the downpayment, the transfer of funds to the manufacturer/supplier who in turn will start production. Estimated production time 2 months, subject to latter's holiday period. On completion of the production run, the balance will have to be paid prior to goods being shipped.
The Final List - firm orders - on 08/05/2019 was as follows :

1. Richard K 03/05 1 pair
2. John_W 02/05 1 pair
3. LRS7 02/05 1 pair
4. M100turboFR (David) 03/05 1 pair
5. Brit-Car-Nut 03/05 1 pair
6. uk08462 (Simon H) 1 pair (26/04)
7. Burble61 (Chris A) 1 pair
8.Morris DennyMorris 1 pair 04/05
9.danevansgolf 1RH side drivers side
10.Sivaslian Serge, 1 pair.
11. Wayne 1 unit RH side
12. gwigzee 1 pair
13. Dunnlor 1 pair
14. Miller 1 pair
15. TD2 1 pair
16. Clemo 1 pair
17. Clemo 1 more pair
18.French_elans 1 pair
19. Muley (Jim) 1 pair ~ firm order
20. Steve Mathews

i.e. 17 pairs + 2 RH side covers (Danevansgolf, Wayne) + possibility of an additional pair (Clemo).
Thank you all.

Trust you're in agreement with this.

Dave (Clemo) Hi
Indeed, the majority doubtless hold the same view - i.e. no real urgency. However we'll have to cut off this initial list fairly soon. Indeed, by the time we obtain all the downpayments and transfer the sum and the manufacturer/supplier starts production we'll be into August/September (depending on his holiday period - sometimes 1 month). We do have the minimum required quantity of 15.
BUT there still remains the problem of shipment (post, courier, other...) to be solved. I'm currently working on this myself, with BCN (John) and of course with the supplier. Hopefully we'll get there.
Before we can move forward with this Group Buy we must first settle this problem and find a valid, acceptable and fair solution with which everyone must be in agreement. I'm open to all suggestions and would appreciate your help.
No objection to transferring this "final list" to the Group Buy section. Might be the best idea. Any voluteers? Or explain the procedure to me. Is it just Copy & Paste?
A 2nd Group Buy could be launched for any new "takers". You know better than me.

Is there an estimate of the price for the units/pair ?
I have no need for them. But a spare set can turn a write off into a viable repair.
All depends if I can afford to shell out that sum for a part that hopefully I will never need

Tuga.Jaoa ??I think.. Firm preferential price has been available for over a month now!!!! 480 € the pair, inclusive of VAT, excluding shipment/packaging costs. 1 unit (irrespective of side) costs 250 €, VAT included, excluding shipment/packaging costs.
This final list will be closed very shortly as we'll be heading towards downpayment and production.

Thanks Fredjohn for your intervention.

Is there a way to jump in for a pair ? I'm just about to take delivery of my Elan and unfortunately both are cracked so I really do need a pair. Please let me know if I can still jump in. That'd be great :)

Hi everyone. Message to purchasers in the final list.

As stated previously, I'm awaiting confirmation regarding the final cost of shipment (goods, packaging, individual parcel / bulk delivery box (UK?) ) and most probably insurance - damage/loss - (12€ apparently although non mandatory, but advisable especially for America) to all the destinations. Hopefully be Wednesday I'll have the final figure for each respective country.
Meanwhile, in order to gain time prior to cutting off the list (closure) and requesting downpayment, I'd appreciate if you would communicate the following information to me by email (watt.david@free.fr) :

- Full name AND LEC pseudonym
- Country of residence
- Full postal address
- Your email address (I want to compile a single mailing list for all purchasers so that I can send out information to you all. The important points/issues will also figure on the LEC forum. I prefer working with Outlook but should this pose a problem the LEC PM system could be used. In any case, all relevant information will be provided in the appropriate LEC forum Group Buy section.

- Dispatch address (if different from your postal address)

Clarification : Your full name, country of residence, and full address are required for order shipment purposes, especially in the case of individual shipments. For the UK, it would be ideal (and probably cheaper) if we could ship to one single destination (delivery point), for subsequent redispatch to each single purchaser (e.g. LEC Postal System). Could this be a valid solution? Please advise.

- Preferred means of payment :
Paypal (Friends & Family) to me - Bank transfer to me in view of conducting 1 single transfer of all downpayments once latter have been received. - Morris!! Have noted you do not do Internet banking, so it would be a bank transfer for you. This entails me holding the funds till I receive all downpayments before transferring to the supplier. Does this sound acceptable to you? It is entirely your choice and you are of course welcome to be in disagreement, but I personally cannot bear the total cost of the downpayments (e.g. 1800€ for 15 pairs) and lay out this sum in advance. Please advise accordingly.

In this respect, if anyone is willing to vouch for my honesty and integrity, it would be most welcome (I've met Trevor Buesnel, Dave (Clemo), Philip Johnson and Philippe ADAMS (Hethel 70th), Annemarie Brien (Club Lotus), have had dealings with BCN (John), exchanges with Jonathan (Saltire), John_W, there's only on f in Geof Smith (my CO pot and SVS scandal) and for Ian Lindley up in Peebles, Ian I edit (linguistically) the novels of Dumfries author Miller Caldwell.

OR

Bank transfer direct to the supplier Please note He does not accept Paypal transactions.

If you choose this last option, you will require a special purchase code (available from me and not to be divulged) for identification purposes with the supplier. This code enables the supplier to compare the purchase list in his possession. If there is no match, you (or any outside person) will have to pay the full price of 530€ per pair.

N.B. All bank charges/currency rate charges (additional charges) incurred by the direct transfer to the supplier shall be borne by you.

So I'd appreciate your replies and preferences as quickly as possible as I'll be closing the list as soon as I have the final firm prices for shipment.

Many thanks and don't hesitate to contact me should you have any questions/queries or any suggestions (especially for the UK orders).

Hi everyone
Progressing slow but sure. However it would be better if the "interested parties" were to consult the thread more often and reply to my requests.
Indeed, this is the main reason why I contacted each person requesting his particulars and preferred method of payment for the downpayment stating that a mailing list would be set up by me on Outlook allowing me to contact all buyers simultaneously, thereby facilitating my task instead of having to chase everyone up individually.
To date, the majority have replied but I'm still awaiting answers from the following persons:

Muley (Jim) please email your preferred method of payment
Gwigzee (Mathieu) - all information requested
Miller (Renaud) - All information requested
TD2 (Ian in Peebles) : All information requested
Dave (Clemo) : All information requested (message was sent to your email address and LEC PM)
NewLogik (Canada) : Max I have received all necessary info but I'm uncertain about whether you have sorted out the email exchange problem with FREE (provider) here in France. Are you receiving my messages ok? However, you do not appear to be able to send messages to me (systematically rejected). I even sent you a message via Gmail but have had no reply. Could you please confirm all is ok with using FREE.
Steve Mathews : All information required.

Await your replies to my FREE email address.

Steve, I agree with your logic but the cost projected is more than I can cover right now as I am seeing two specialists just about every month and they are not inexpensive. I have one spare L/S lamp on the shelf and was considering getting a R/S cover as a spare but the low odds of them matching (since they are completely different manufactures) AND our property tax doubled this year was enough to make me drop out. As a pair, I figure they will be GREAT and will solve most problems. Money is just tight right now.

Hi guys,
I'm french and will probably meet David to pick up my covers.
And I will go to Goodwood Revival in september, so if UK buyers want to save shipping cost and meet me at Goodwood, it's possible. But remember I will travel with my old MG Midget ... not the same boot as our M100
