06/06/2019 Notification to all purchasers.

Since all members have finally transferred payment of the requested deposit (with the exception of Wayne who actually paid in full - RH cover + postage + insurance) I have decided to close this Group Buy for the M100 rear light covers as of today. The list therefore comprises 18 pairs and 2 RH side covers. I also have a last minute request for 1 additional pair and am awaiting the deposit. This should not delay unduly the transfer of the total sum to our supplier who in turn will initiate the production process. You will of course naturally all receive confirmation of the transfer of the total sum. Delivery is scheduled for September/October. By that time you will be able to pay the balance by credit card/bank transfer in GBP or US Dollars (Maxime not too sure about Canadian Dollars?) and for our French colleagues in Euros.
Any questions/queries, please do not hesitate to contact me. I take this opportunity to thank you all.

Final purchase list as of 07/06/2019

1. Richard K (Richard) 1 pair
2. John_W (John) 1 pair
3. LRS7 (Mark) 1 pair
4. M100turboFR (David) 03/05 1 pair
5. NewLogik (Max F) 1 pair (replaces Brit-Car-Nut (John)
6. Burble61 (Chris A) 1 pair
7.Morris (Denny) 1 pair 04/05
8.danevansgolf (Daniel) 1 unit RH side (driver's side)
9.Sivaslian (Serge) 1 pair.
10. Wayne (Wayne B) 1 unit RH side (driver's side)
11. gwigzee (Mathieu) 1 pair
12. Dunnlor (Tom) 1 pair
13. Miller (Renaud) 1 pair
14. TD2 (Ian) 1 pair
15. Clemo (Dave) 1 pair
16. Clemo (Dave) 1 additional pair (confirmed on 28/05)
17.French_elans (Damien) 1 pair
18. Muley (Jim) 1 pair
19. Lotus Guy Michael (Michael B) 1 pair (replaces Steve Mathews)
20. Spald04417 (Keith S) 1 pair
21. Anders Thornberg 1 pair (07/06)

i.e. 19 pairs + 2 RH side covers (Danevansgolf, Wayne)

One last subsidiary question : John_W and the last party wishing to order (mentioned above) - Anders T - have requested the supply of a clear (transparent) finish (as opposed to shall we say a "smoky" one). I personally wish a clear (transparent) finish. If it's not too much trouble - we still have the time - would you please confirm your wish regarding the desired finish. Thank you.

I am therefore closing this LEC Group Buy today. Should there be any additional requests, the latter will form the subject of a new Group Buy.

Hi David,

Thanks for the notification and synthesis about where we are in the process.
Regarding your question about clear or smoky finish, could you please give a better idea of the difference? My answer would definitely be: the closest to the original covers.

Thanks!

Je te retourne la question! De quelle couleur sont les tiens? D'habitude ils sont clairs (transparent) mais il est possible de les teinter.
Merci de bien vouloir confirmer ton choix.

David,

Google Translated your post as:
I return the question! What color are yours? Usually they are clear (transparent) but it is possible to tint them.

I have around 15 original tail lights in different stages of destruction from US and UK cars and EVERY ONE of them has a "grey/copper" tint on the outer cover.

This is from the parts book:

There is no offering for anything different except for with or without the fog lamps.

I don't know if the tint is critical for inspection and I assume it is there because Renault specified it originally, but a "Clear" outer cover was never available from Lotus.

John
Thanks for your reply. Correct me if I'm wrong but the original (Lotus) covers came from the Renault Alpine V6GT and were tinted. I'm only stating what our manufacturer said when asked if he could supply "clear" covers (requested by a few purchasers). If a tinted version was required, there would be no problem since the tint is added during production (coloured/dyed in the mass).
Very few have voiced their choice !
How would you suggest going about this as we must avoid manufacturing "covers" which the purchasers finally do not wish!!!! Up till now only John_W specified "clear" covers.
Your opinion would be greatly appreciated.

I would allow anyone that specifically asked for "clear" to make them as requested. Maybe you should contact each buyer and specifically ask whether they want clear or tinted? (Group buy management is rarely a fun task). Are you sure he meant clear covers and not clear lenses?

The manufacturer would probably do the clear covers first and then tint the remaining resin to the proper tint thus making him blend the resin only once.
Myself, I would want the covers to be as close to original as possible, but that is MY choice.
I was only trying to picture the extra work needed when making the covers in different tints.
The lense attachment behind the cover is fairly crude, so maybe someone could take pictures of a light with no cover (to represent clear) and then with the cover installed. My pile of lights are all missing different lenses so would not be helpful.
I think they were tinted to better blend in to the semi-gloss black surrounding panel.

Thanks. Yes covers not lenses.
I'll follow your advice and contact each buyer and ask each person to "clearly" define what option they require - clear or tinted. That way there will be no surprises!!

Choice confuses me.
It takes me ages to order a Chinese meal. Set meal for 1 should be only one option!

I want my set as close to the original ones. Not looking for clear. I didn't know we had to make a choice, just tought there was a new option for clear upon request.

Thanks,

Original colour covers for me please. 1question I have is, on the covers, are you suppling the reflector cover in the middle aswell. As this is part of the cover. Stupid question sorry.

Just my thoughts, is NO. The reflector is NOT part of the cover, it is glued on after the fact. If you need one, I can scrounge one from a broken cover I have.

Just seen your remark. As BCN (John) so rightly said, the reflector is not part of the "cover".
Thanks for confirming the finish you desire. Original Noted.
