Cheers doode, that looks good.

I suspect they do have facilities but are currently in the house?

Can you book me in or do you have a different contact I can call them on.

Is there a pub nearby?!

When I spoke to the owner, she said "you may have seen the toilet tent". That's why I thought it was the brown one in the middle of picture campsite2.jpg

Stef - She said that when she had a call, but it was a mobile and she couldn't hear the person very well, hence she didn't call back. Just give her a call and book.

Pub - didn't see one, but I just drove directly from the Hethel site to the campsite.

You obviously haven't heard of the Bird in Hand in nearby Church Road. Neither had I until I read this:

"It is a shadow of its former self (from about 8 years back), it is rather expensive and the atmosphere is as flat as a pancake. I will always love this pub though for the sole reason that I spent some of the best years of my life in it and made a great deal of friends there amongst the regulars (when it had some). Beer is terrible apparently, an insider informed us because the lines are only cleaned when landlord can be bothered. My friends boyfriend had a pint of lager that smelled of rotten eggs..."

So, expensive, no atmosphere, terrible beer, no locals, lager smelling of rotten eggs. What more could you wish for ?

Well, as it is only one night (for me anyway), local to Hethel and seems a genuine basic campsite I will be booking in here.

I'll fore warn a few others will also!

Ta for the info everyone. I think a gin-gang-gooley around the campsite after the BBQ will be fine, if anyone is up for it after the BBQ!

Probably will Ailwyn! :D

Tried to call the campsite again, answerphone again. Called with my land line, spoke clearly and left land and mobile numbers - no word back.

They really are hard to contact!

Yay!

Got through and have booked my spot.

To confirm, there is a portaloo facility but currently no other facilities or showers. There are still spaces left too.

I only booked in myself and JB however mentioned that others may also be booking in. I didn't go ahead and book you all in as I would rather people confirm they are happy with the basics there or if a site with greater facilities is required.

Can people please post here where they prefer so we can know where everyone is staying?

Shaun,

Don't see what's wrong with that myself  :drunk: :smt030 :smt078

What Gary is trying to say is, he's making an open invitation to any of the campers to use his hotel room to sh*t, shower and shave :smt082

Now that I've committed to this event and ordered a ticket (thanks Dave) it's likely I'll be camping too! Just need to decide if I'm going to come up on the Friday or Saturday (and of course sort out a tent!) then I'll give them a call and book.
