I've downloaded it and will have it on a CD along with some more pictures I've received recently. I might have a lap top but not sure if I get one with the job this time round. Looks as though a few will be bringing lap tops, but none dedicated for use on the stand, un;ess someone is offering :D . Plan A is that Jim P will make it but my backup is to bring a desktop if I don't have a lap top.

Dear John:

Elanscan runs just fine on a Mac. At least my Powerbook G4.

Nige,
My laptop is back up & running at a cost of £60 thanks to a new hard drive from Maplins and my dexterity with hammers and screwdrivers. Sometimes I amaze myself.

Anyway I can provide my laptop for most of the time on the stall. It is a Compaq Armada running Windows 98, and has a CD drive (not DVD) and USB and serial socket things.

I can provide a security cable, a mouse, power cable and transformer, and a 12V to 240V power inverter. It might be an idea if Enright can bring his emergency 12V powerpack in case we're not near a power socket.

John

Al,
sorry to hear you won't be there.
John

if it is running windows 98, you've probably more than doubled it's value with that hard drive !

On a more serious note, does anyone have a laptop with a DVD drive as I believe Nige intended on projecting a DVD compilation of videos and still images.

I'll be bringing at least 1 projector with me but cannot guarantee a laptop at this moment in time.

I have a laptop, with DVD drive, but will only be there on Saturday.

I do however have a 4gb USB memory stick that I'd be happy to loan as long as someone takes responsibility for getting it back to me.

Nah, what doubled the value was that I upgraded from Windows 95 when I did the software-install on the new hard drive.

All offers of Laptops are appreciated. I will still bring the desktop (I have a couple of spares) as that can sit on the stand for the whole weekend. It has a DVd drive and runs XP so not too shabby. I won't bring a monitor but will have keyboard and mouse along with a surge protected extension lead.

I'm pretty sure I have an old monitor in the loft that I can just stick in the boot and bring along on the Friday afternoon. If that will do...?

Neil,

Thanks, it would be useful to have a monitor, my plan was to use a projector (courtesy of Tony) and run the machine off the projected image. As far as manning the stand goes, you can take it as read that I'll be on the stand for all the gaps. I should be ok to leave work at about 1200 on Friday and will aim to be on the road to Donington shortly afterwards. As long as the traffic isn't too horrendous I should be able to make Donington between 1600 and 1700. I also plan to be around for the take down on the Sunday but idf things thin out as I suspect they might I will be looking for an early get away so to get home at a decent time.

Tony,

One will do fine thanks. We will only have the space to project one at a time so I don't see the need for more.
