- Fizzling food :?
- Dodgy jokes by the Melbourne Arms dude :-|
- Stealing a statue from Melbourne Arms, putting it in the coach and telling the driver it was stolen and that it would be returned :?
- Justin having a thing for "Mustafa" and tries to push it onto Stevieshag (even got the keys to his hotel room...)
- Security wondering what the huge bang at Travelodge was
- Creaky floorboards
- Sy's trousers
- The hairy twins..
- Someone forgetting the tickets to the show so we had to cue up for them
- Stef's parking skills
- Someone's family photos shown on the projector
- Some police officers stealing all my attention :?
- Neil trying to set fire to the restaurant

Mustapha Redcar, our newest LEC recruit, is back in his rightfull place at the Melbourne curry house.

Over the weekend he suffered physical abuse by his accosters Stef and Justin, a drunken bus ride through the twisty lanes of Derbyshire with 12 other drunken LEC members, a failed attempt to get him into StevieShag's bed in the Travel Lodge, an ignominious kicking by Monty and a subsequent bomb alert investigated by the hotel security. After a phone call to Enright, who was in the bar at the Holiday Inn Express, Mustapha was eventually collected by his owners and returned to the peace of the curry house.

And some folks thougt the curry bash was a bit quiter than normal !! No doubt we'll be looking for a new venue for next year - Neil has done his bit extremely well over the last 3 years and now handed over the organisation to the perpetrators of the crime

Just hope LEC doesn`t get band from the curry house :?

Maybe it`s time for a change next year and stay in a town somewhere with a few bars/pubs.

THE PERPETRATORS will just have to find out, and sort it out.

The Melbourne Arms were extremely accommodating:
They ferried 16 from the Travel Lodge.
They only asked us to pay half for 10 less people turning up than had been booked
(our numbers cock-up was only noticed after we sat down and did a head-count).
They waited til we were completely ready to go before ferrying people back to the hotel.
So I reckon they bent over backwards to help, and when I got the call from the manager just after midnight I thought he must be ringing to tell me that one of us had left something - not TAKEN something!
Some ambassadors we turned out to be.

Oddly neither he or I were "in on the joke", so it was very embarrassing.
And I didn't appreciate being put in the category of people who had "had a sense of humour bypass" either.

The last message that I got was that they would phone to apologise and smooth things over in the morning.

I SINCERELY HOPE IT HAPPENED!

Well folks, I thought it best to write to the Melbourne arms to appologise. I have now written to them explaining myself, and to let them know that not everyone shared in the amusement Steff's and I had!

I shall ring them as I promised to Neil, but thought it best that I wrote so that the correct person got the right words.

:D

Just taken a call from the Manager (Jay) of the Melbourne Arms, who did in fact appreciate the letter I faxed through. After reading it did see the funny side, and said we are all welcome back next year.

I shall not say what I wrote, but explained the statue was having a trip out, and Steff and I intended to send pictures on.

I promised better behavior next year. They are all cool now! Someone tell Neil please.

Who is coming then?
