Lotus Elan Central

I have been blessed with an Elan with an immaculate interior and I intend to keep it that way.

I have done some searches and most of the stuff I found is more about restoring worn seats and dash etc. I have a range of products I have used in the past, but would be appreciative of any product recommendations for keeping the vinyl and leather (especially) looking as good as it currently is.

I am sure cjay will post what he has been using .. but other ideas also gratefully accepted.

Andy, I too have been similarly blessed. :-D

I borrowed an ecloth from my wife a few weeks ago to clean the inside of the windscreen and it did a brilliant job so I tried it on the dashboard and it did a brilliant job so ..... I guess I'm going to have to buy my own now.

These things only use water to clean and consequently leave no residue to attract / stick dust and dirt. I think you can get them in Oz (brother-in-law & sister-in-law live in Cremorne).

Gareth, thanks for the tip on liquid leather, I've just ordered some. Have you tried the Scuff Master, as I've got a couple of patches where the seatbelt rubs?

There is a new product on the market sold at Halfords called Carplan Fabric seal and protect.

I understand it works on LEATHER. Test first. cost £9.99 for an aerosal can.

For all those damp footwells out there I'd suggest 1st removing the rubber drain-plug from each-side then using a SMALL electric heater usually set at 750W if possible, or more is OK if you lift one edge off the carpet with a 1/2" flat piece of wood... which I'd recommend doing anyway.

Living in Florida and being oft invited on boats led me to that gem.

I always use Meguiars Gold Class, seemed to work OK. I always found it hard to find the stuff the poms are happy with down here.

Maybe they don't send it down here because of the cricket...

This is also OK. I tried it once but it's too much hastle except for one thing... the chicks dig it! If you're a girlie-man you might too! BTW, a cricket is something I step on with my foot. However, all the Indians who work here would be thrilled to have someone to talk to about that.
