Lotus Celebration Brands Hatch - 24 March 2007

Postby nchase » Wed 24.01.2007, 11:38

All,

I am getting this posted early.

Lotus On Track and MotorSportVision Racing, have their own Elise Race Championship.

One year on from its debut event, MotorSport Vision Racing (MSVR) hosts the "Lotus Brands Hatch Celebration", which sees the launch of the new MSVR-backed Lotus On Track Elise Trophy. Expected to be the largest ever series for Elises in the UK, the LoT Elise Trophy is an exciting addition to MSVR's portfolio.

Other races on the bill include Open Sports Racing and GT, Irish Porsche Open, BARC SE Saloons, T Cars and Formula Ford Zetecs.

In addition to the racing, there will be Lotus displays and demonstrations, including 60's F1 cars and a live appearance by 'Doctor and the Medics'.

If you've ever been a fan of Lotus make sure you're at Brands Hatch on 24 March!

In addition I was speaking to one of the organisers last night and he is planning on having parking allocated to Lotus Groups, such as SELOC, North Kent Lotus, Kent Lotus etc and wants to allocated a section to the LEC so that all the ELAN's can park together if they so wish.

What I would like to know is how many of you would come to this event! If the weather is fine, then it would be many times better than the annual event to which ELAN's show (Donington) because there is actually the opportunity to watch the racing as well.

I will post more information once the organiser passes it on to me. Discounted day tickets will be available via SELOC for those that are members, else a purchase from the MSV site is possible.

There are not that many ELAN's in the south and Kent so it would be great to see a contingent from the Midlands or the North come down. Hotel space is lacking, but if a few wanted to camp in my garden then I have room for about 5 tents and careful parking for about 10 cars and am about 30 mins away from Brands pending traffic for the Saturday Evening.

So who's coming to the Event:

Hi Nick,

This sounds like a great event for anyone in the south and the more adventurous in the north. Just wish it was not so close to dony for obvious reasons. The impact the M100's have at Dony should be replicated at other venues in my opinion but it will take time. I have a prob with limited mileage insurance and the trip to the ring took a big chunk of the miles. However if i only do Dony, BH WRA, and the else trophy i should have about 5 miles to spare

Don't count me in for the moment - i'm likely to be a late entry

edit-i can always come in the Peugeot estate - but i want to come to a lotus event in my elan!!!
Could the 'Hokey-Cokey' actually be what it's all about?

I have a few free tickets and also we have been invited by SELOC to join their parking on the SouthBank 'a prestigeous parking place'.

As there were 13 Elan at the GWR attempt which was a great turnout, it would be good to see a similar number if not more at this event. If 50 can turn up at Donington, 50 can turn up at Brands.
