Long story but in the end I paid over $700.00 US for a radiator filled with holes and now I have to pay out of my pocket to ship it back so they can inspect it. Steve basically "wigged out" on me over the phone rather then wanting to help correct the problem. I had never seen this side of him but I have never had a problem with anything in the past and did not need to return anything. I guess you really learn a lot about a business by how they deal with an item that needs to be fixed or repaired. :? If they "wig-out" over a bad item they sent you, proceed with caution and stay away.

The radiator is not yet back from the repair shop but I did get a chance to try Bill's lower intake tube before I parked the car. Bills lower tube replaces the rubber section that goes from the turbo to the intercooler. This replacement tube is suppose to eliminates flex and pressure loss from stock rubber hose and give more immediate turbo response. After testing the car (before the radiator problem) I can honestly say that I do indeed feel a difference, the turbo seams to respond better and spool up quicker.

I have found my camera so I thought I would take some pics. I have not yet finished cleaning things but the motor sure looks nice. The next step is to begin working on the turbo upgrade, as I begin this next step of my project I will start a new thread that is only about my upgrade turbo. I am planning on doing a T-Bird IHI turbo upgrade and I will discuss that more after the holidays :D

I got me one 'O dem Billy-Boy lower IC pipes. It saved my ass cuz I just placed a larger silicone adapter on the end which mates to the larger T-Bird compressor housing inlet. Other wise I'd be in the shit-house. Very, very, very lucky I didn't sell it!

He is a ton of fun :D

Bill no longer answers the phone and does not respond to emails unless he wants to yell at you, now he just expects you to send your money and hope for the best. Do not even think about sending an email in order to check on the avalibility of a item, WOW! You will get a yelling like you never had before all in an email.

Well, I posted his link only because I know he has a few left and some LEC members might want get their hands on one before they are all gone.

Bill told me only 6 were ever made. Sort of like the bag-boy at Publix today when I told him that 530-odd of these cars were ever sold in the USA. He said, You mean like, EVER? Yep. Wow, that's incredible. I think it was the biggest word he'd ever user, and that's, incredible!

Image Yeah!! Doug

And Ekapol's may be the only "modified" one of the original lot. It used to be mine and got tweaked to fit the IHI/T3 hybrid I had years back...ah, the good old days.

If anyone wants one of those pipes and doesn't want the experience of dealing with he-whose-name-must-not-be-spoken, hang tight! I will have one in the works in the next few months along with a upper pipe/BOV combo as well.

Ok, it has been some time since I have been on this thread.

UPDATE: I had a small vibration in the motor that I could feel in my seat but only at an idle. I found that my right side motor mount was bad and after replacing thing are much better BUT there is still the smallest vibration that I can feel.

Possible cause: In discussion with my tech and with Dave Bean we are guessing that the lighter flywheel may be the culprit. Because the flywheel does not have a large amount of rotation inertia the power stroke of the motor is more prevalent and amplified at lower RPMs. Once the RPMs are bouught up the motor is as smooth as can be with no vibration at all.

I do have to say that the vibration is very small but it is there at idle and I am a bit picky when it comes to my car. I am sure most would not notice but my butt sure does :D

Ok ya'll

The car is running great and I have put about 2K on her since th rebuilt. Time to move to the next stage to this project.

I will be doing the T-Bird turbo upgrade. I already have all the parts (thanks eBay) but in reality you only need the compressor side wheel. As for the compressor housing you can use the T-bird housing with a small modification but it iwll fit right on the Elan turbo or you can uses your original housing if it is machined to fit the larger compressor wheel, I am sending a spair unit I have up to Majestic Turbo in Waco and they will machine my Elan housing to fit the large T-Bird compressor wheel.
