Removel of rear bumper

Can anyone tell me if the above is a straight forward precedure?
Also does it go back on in exactly the same possition it came off?
This is important as it needs to line up with the light conversion i've just had done!

There`s bolts on the inside of the boot IIRC 2 each corner. The main problem is getting the screws out under neath the bumper, had to grind mine off. Not sure on how much adjustment when u refit but wouldn`t of thought it was much.

I presume the carpet has to be pulled out to get at these bolts?

Four large nuts inside the boot and a load of small (problematic) bolts with rawl nuts underneath the bumper. Try the underneath bolts first, the 4 big ones hold the weight of the bumper and the small ones sieze up.

The 4 large bolts from the bumper fit through larger holes in the bodywork, so the bumper can be a pain to line up when it goes back on. When you take the bumper off be carefull as the large bolts will probably have a lot of spacers on them to keep the bumper in line, keeping the right ammount of spacers on the right bolts will help you line up the bumper.

I'd be very interested in seeing your new tail light config when doen Roger. Seems there's a few little projects like this going on now. Also, just read that Phil knows a thing or two about fibreglass. Maybe there's another semi-mass produced Elan upgrade in the future
