Dear Ekapol:

No problem. Its a pleasure to be able to participateon this website in a hopefully meaningful way.

I'm uneasy about e-mailing my credit card information so I'd give him a call if I were you.

Sincerely,

Algirdas

He's ok with paypal and I have just paid for it. GBP 40 for shipping to California.

Delivery seems to be scheduled in a month. Hope that rubber tape on the hose survive until then.

I've called and arranged my exchange and order. Now to get the bloomin' hoses to the post office.

Thanks for arranging the deals Algirdas!

Dear Ian and Ekapol:

Ian-No problem. Being able to exchange our hoses should save us around $150. I think the "big" thanks should go to the LEC-ers who went before us and amassed goodwill with James, Amber Performance and Samco. All I did was take advantage of that.

Ekapol-Are you using Xtreme Tape on your patch? I have a couple of rolls in my car for moments just like yours. Since the M100 has more hoses than a Blue Man Group performance on steroids, I think a couple of rolls of Xtreme Tape are a necessity. Temperature range from -60 Deg. F up to 500 Deg. F. If you follow the instructions for its application, its pretty amazing stuff. Remember, it is a self-amalgamating tape. You can even get it in colors if you are fashion conscious.

Many places sell the stuff. I get mine from Duluth Trading. http://www.duluthtrading.com/store/depa ... 96825.aspx

Dear Algirdas,

No, but similar. Mine seems to be inferior in comparison. Like... stretch to only double its size, -55 to 176 F., UL listed 600 Volts/mil. .. Application radiator/heater hoses, etc.

I use the product from Intertape called Stretch-N-Seal. That's what they have at Kragens near my place.

It's still leaking. I don't feel like removing the hoses and REALLY wrap them. Couldn't wrap the tape too good with the hose in its place. Currently it starts to bother me a little bit, trying to run the car and avoid the traffic, if you know what I mean ;)

Your tape seems like a good tool for the job. Good find Algirdas :smt023

Yes, sometimes I wonder.. do we really need all those hoses

Dear Ekapol:

There are other companies that make these extreme tapes, but the specs on this one seem the best. Plus, Duluth Trading seems like a pretty good company. I think Summit Racing or Midway Auto Supply have their own versions too.

I'll ping James later next week if I do not hear from him first to see what is the current time frame and I'll ask him to fill your order first. Have you already placed your order with him?

Sincerely,

Wow, thanks so much Algirdas. That's very nice of you.

I just don't want to cause any inconvenient. The tape I have should hold up for a month or I could try wrapping them some more.

A while back all I ever wanted for Christmas was a window motor, now it's a hose :smt017

Does anybody know if the kit will come with jubilee clips? I think James mentioned that clips will not be included.

Can I use the existing clips?

I just bought a full set of stainless jubilee clips at a local store for about £35 to do the whole lot (for a UK car) - i decided that as the old clips were mainly the factory fitted crimp type, they would not be easy to fit on the Samco hoses (and ensure a good fit), so i went down the "sod it, it's only money" route.

Just the one now, but this one's mine! - and it will be finished eventually..... - but also temporary custodian of a project until it is finished enough for Angie to drive it

The clips can be purchased seperately for around £40 ($80?), Amber have put this kit together. Better to be safe than sorry.
May sound pricey but I think I worked it out at around £2 a clip.
Samco recomend these clips, the originals have grooves on the inside whereas Ambers are smooth and won't damage the hose (allegedly).

Dear Ekapol:

I spoke to James the other day and your order is one of the first, if not the first, in queue. Your order will be filled early in the process. May not happen by Donington though.

As far as hose clamps are concerned, Ideal also makes a hose clamp that is suited for silicone hose use. See

http://www.idealtridon.com/catalog/clam ... =27&ID=168

I'm not sure what cost advantages, if any, there would be in buying locally or just getting the kit from Amber.

Ideal/Tridon clamps are available pretty much everywhere through their distributor Fastenal. See

http://www.fastenal.com/web/home.ex;jse ... 5XDqQLvpAe

Fastenal locations are everywhere. We even have one here in Fort Collins.

Ekapol, if it turns out you cannot get your hose set from Algirdas while at Donington, maybe we could get them to ship ours (I am ordering a set for Marie) together. Just a thought, though I realize there is urgency in your case.
Ready to sell...... I think.

Thanks Dave & Dico.

Kjeld: I thought Amber will ship directly to us right? I have no problem if we want to combine shipping but I've already paid them the shipping charges :?

Last conversation (email) with James today, still that it will be a month from now :? He said they are being made now. I can't wait to get them sooner but I can wait, if you know what I mean :)

Starting to give up topping up the coolant with .. er coolant. I use more mixture of filtered water thesedays.

Algirdas: Thank you for following up for me :) I went ahead and told James I also want a jubilee kit from him @ 30 GBP. Call me lazy :-)

Dear Ekapol:

One roll of X-treme Tape is on its way to you tomorrow. Keep it in your glovebox. If you need it, use it, keep it, enjoy it. If not, then keep it on hand in case something else blows. Just do something nice for someone less fortunate this Christmas and we will be more than even-I will owe you!

Is your address from the roll bar run still good?

I hope this helps.

Dear Algirdas,

I'm sure I could put the tape to good use. Really appreciate your offer!!
