Hi,
What is the best way to reduce/eliminate the free play in Elan's shifter?
I know a new shifter assembly is about 80GBP....

AB gear cables & delrin gearshift mechanism mounting bushes Michael.
They're a lot more than £80, but well worth it.
Erm, thinking about it, where is the play?
If it's in the ball and socket at the bottom of the gear lever then the above suggestion is NOT a solution.
You need to identify the exact source of the problem first.
