Paul charges £25 p/h and a full paintwork correction service. For a car like the Elan would take around 7-10 hours depending on the level of work required.

Got to meet the leg-end that is Will B yesterday, and a pleasure it was. The purpose was to take a look at his herd of grazing M100's mooching about in the garden, and see what we could get done in a day.
These were never going to be full correction details, doing more than one in a day simply isn't going to happen.
With that in mind, Will left with some keys and his lovely spacious garage to hide from the cold in.
Not the best set of pictures taken I'm afraid - a combination of lots of work to do and it being bloody freezing cold.
Starting with the red one, as it was already in the garage. Rolled it out for a thorough wash, dried it off then back into the garage out of the wind.
Looking around the car showed it to be covered in tar spots, and a generally hazy dull finish. Armed with Autoglym tar remover I worked my way around the car and removed the majority of the spots. This being done, I decided main priority was to try and put some shine and depth back into the red.
This paint was ridiculously hard, but after a bit of experimentation found a method to put some life back into it - again, this was never meant to be a defect correction detail, but by removing 50% of the swirls it gave the desired effect.

Front of the bonnet (although the paint was a little faded in places, I think the orange colour is more a result of the halogen light I was using)
Knowing I had another car to attend to after this, and happy with the general improvement, I carried on around the car. Once done, I added a layer of an acrlic sealant to help resist further fading, and increase the gloss level. Glass was cleaned inside and out, tyres and trim dressed. Then outside for a couple of finished pics:
Time for the blue one to get some attention.
Whilst taking pics of the red one, the sun was shining, but as I swapped cars around and started to wash the blue car, the sky was getting darker by the minute. As I was rinsing off, the snow and hail started to fall, so I wheeled the car into the garage to dry it.
Back in the safety of the garage, enjoying the warmth only a halogen light can give on days like that, I looked over the car. Much better condition to start with (but then you'd expect it having done less than half the miles). This Azure Blue is very rare on the Elan Will told me, which I find surprising given its such a gorgeous colour. General swirls were present, as were the odd deeper scratch.
Once again, looking for a general improvement rather than perfection, I worked my way around the car with the rotary polisher, putting a bit of sparkle back into it.

And on the rear deck over (the bit that covers the folded roof).
Once finished I gave the paint a coat of Chemical Guys carnuba wax for protection and give it that 'wet' look. The metal flake stood out beautifully.
Sadly I don't have any other finished pictures because that was all I had time for and it was getting rather dark and snowy again outside, but I hope I get the opporunity to work for Will again - he was a great host and I think he was pleased with the improvements seen in both cars.
