Nice to see you people, shame about the weather, no doubt it will be lovely on Monday.

Neil, well done for finding Mike, as he seems to like the M100 maybe he`ll try to ensure the continued supply of spare parts for many years.

Here`s hoping

Regards to you all

You're right Chris, but who knows - maybe if we put in a call before the Lotus Factory Tour (see this thread if they ever get back on topic again!), then who knows - perhaps the big man himself could be persuaded to put in an appearance.

For now though, here are a few more pics of new stuff:

Hi

Postby Kimbers » Sun 25.03.2007, 16:35

Hey guys,

Sitting here at present reading your posts with MJK. He was chuffed to bits that you recognised him and spent quite a bit of time talking to you (despite me frantically trying to drag him away for a meeting with Jonathan Palmer)....I was sort of acting PA for the day.

Personally was great to meet you as I've met Sy a few times and a couple more of you at Bristol. Always great to meet more enthusiasts, I'm one myself.

Here's some pics of my day...sorry no m100's as I was with LEF (incidently, you can look at some pics on the LEF website under Events. There's a couple of great shots by Jonathan of your M100 going round the track).

We call this Hooning in the world of LEF, you may call it Convoy (only faster)

In regards to the factory visit, I was talking to MJK and it WILL be going ahead sometime in July. I need one of your members or website owner to contact me as all owners clubs will be involved in the process and deciding the content with Lotus......It's going to be JULY, I believe.

Kimbers (Anthony),

Thanks for the above post.
It really was an honour to meet you both yesterday, and totally made my day.
ChrisT's wife was huddling for warmth in his car which was next to mine, and she seemed oblivious to it all. After you left, he tapped on her window and said "do you know who that was?!?"
"No" came the reply, to which I exclaimed "ChrisT's just met God!" :-D

Great photos too - the Esprits really did put on a good show.
But my fave is that top one - oddly it seems that Elans only ever seem to manage line-astern! :?

Now here's a call to SBK to firm up a date for the factory visit.

Thanks also for the link to the pics - I'm dead chuffed with this one:

Great Day

Postby carryondentist » Sun 25.03.2007, 20:38

To add to what others have said, what a good day it turned out to be..

It was a shame the weather was so cold, but with a nice burger and a cup of tea in hand it was ok - at least it stayed dry! Managed to have the hood down on the way there, but like many circuits (and air-fields) Brands seems to have it own, overcast, micro-climate. Fantastic turn out of all types of Lotus'. Impressive line up of M100s, a few classics and very impressed with SELOC's turn out of Elises.

Joining the heritage parade laps was great. Bringing up the (almost) rear of the convoy gave us a great view of the other cars. The sound of the GT1 at even half throttle was unforgettable and made for a bit of fun down Graham Hill Bend and onto Cooper straight. Sadly my mate was not as handy with the camera as ChrisT, and only managed to take some grainy video through my point and shoot camera.

Here are a few of my photos, again many thanks to NChase for the free ticket. See you guys there next year!

Yay at last - with (a lot of) help from Tony Stevens I've finally managed to get the video that ChrisT took uploaded.

Have a look here:

Nice vid Neil, not sure what was more enjoyable, your driving around a track of listening to you and Chris talking.

I'm glad the compression worked out so well, not the usual pixelated tosh that is usually features on youtube :)
