My lad has just started doing a degree in Computer Science. He has 'offered' to help us set up an online S2 database similar to the
TVR database discussed in the
Fed thread. Access will be controlled and full access will initially be limited to those who have contributed (as it is now).
He has offered to host it for us seperate from LEC, as I don't think we should burden our admin with any more jobs. I have given him a copy of the S2 database and he will look at the TVR database as a template. He hopes to provide a simple update facility, so that owners can submit revised details on line to be approved by the keeper of the database (Gazza).
I would imagine that once it is up and running and we are happy with the format, the fed data can be added. If anyone has any thoughts or suggestions, please let me know.

Geoff
I have been looking at the Griffith 500 LE list and must say it is very impressive, especially with the attached photos.
So all we need to do is find someone who has been taking pictures of S2's while recording the details at various shows
I'm all for it but it all depends what other owners say really.
One thing thou. I think it would be a good idea to keep the 2 lists, S2 and FED seperate.

Hopefully people will go for it and if needs be, certain fields could be hidden from everyone if that's what people want.

Geoff and Gary,
I also agree that the S2 and FED lists should be separate. Looking forward to you mates breaking the trail for me!

Just to get the ball rolling, I've put up a very rough and ready
Register page. The S2 database is not modified yet but is password protected. The N/A database is fully accessible.
Gazza, I've e-mailed you the password.

What details are you planning on publishing?
I don't mind Gary having the details (for his own edification or self pleasure sessions

) but I would be reluctant to have any more than one identifying feature published e.g. LTD Edt No ok, but not reg plate, site name ok but not location (yes I know if someone comes to the site they can see my location). Also upgrades may not be a good idea either.

Well it's not really what I want to publish, I think it would be unwise for anyone to have Ltd Edn No (which gives you the VIN in most cases) and No plate and colour etc freely available.
I'm happy to have mine on there with minimum info only - Ltd Edn No, Colour, Reg Year and username if you want it. Anyone who wants more info can contact me to get it, and justify why they want it.

So i can't find the info on my S2, chassis number is under the rear wheel arch but everything else (paint code sticker etc) doesn't seem to be in the engine bay anywhere.
Any other places this stuff might be hiding?
