Paul, you've probably already seen it, but Club Lotus have now got a JPS Club Lotus division.
Could the 'Hokey-Cokey' actually be what it's all about?

I've done a quick analysis in Excel and plotted the maximum reported power versus engine speed for all runs. The first point is you should decrease the acquisition period in ElanScan to 100ms or less (JPS1 was done at 200ms) as the more data you can log, the better the analysis. There wasn't enough data in JPS2 so comparing the average of JPS and JPS1, there would appear to be a marginal difference in power but whether this is significant or down to noise and lack of data, I don't know. One think that could affect the figures to some degree is the weight of any passengers/fuel/luggage. Hopefully, Alan or John will have time to look at them for you.

Geoff, i realise weight of driver + passenger would slow car down, but can't understand why it would effect the power the car is putting out, surely that should be a constant ?. I'm almost certain those power readings are wrong, the car feels no different to when Sy & me did a run around last xmas, & these runs are showing approx 30% decrease in power, which i'm sure i would feel !

Also, you great :gray: , is it your fault the runs were doneat 200ms, instead of 100ms ?, oh, & wtf does all that mean ?, think Geoff thinks ive got a clue about pc's

I'm afraid its one of those rare ocasions were I have to agree with 'Bender Bill'. He's right, you are a pair of Rutland pie munchers aint ya?
You've even got a chippy named after you outside Russ's house!
On a more serious note Paul, if you don't stop eating theres going to be nothing left for the rest of us.

Power isn't measured. It's derived from the acceleration which is calculated from the speed at the current and previous data point. If you drive uphill with a full tank of fuel and Clemo in the boot after you and your lardy mate have stuffed your faces with pies and neither of you have had a dump all week...... your power will appear low.
Not that I'm suggesting anything,
I'll leave that to those who know you better.

Well yes that might have been me, but I didn't know what it had to be set to, and since I don't have a cable anymore I can't have a look. If Geoff posts what needs to be done in PC terms, I'll translate it into Lardy Arse language that you and little you can follow if you like

If you boys only new what i had to do in a day
Anyway, called in at Kelvedon Motors today & asked Pat Thomas to give blacky a spin & give me his experienced opinium. He said it felt like all the other upgraded elans, & considered it quite good, so i feel a bit better now, just got to work out why the elanscan run was so low ?
