As I wait for the resin to cure on the tooling, I knocked up an adapter for Steven's Esprit lights.

This is an ideal alternative for the Elise 2 lights. Keeping the Steven's look and being cost effective it may appeal to road and track cars as a sturdier and cheaper alternative to the original Elan/Renault lights.

This is also lighter than the Elise 2 lights.

These Esprit light units are produced by Toyota for Lotus and Lotus have an excess of stock so are selling these for £35 each. Get the Euro spec and it comes with most bulbs.

These lights are working on the elan and can easily be removed with no change to your M100 Elan.

Bit of advice, only buy the lights if they come with the wire loom with the bulb holders as i`ve been told these are like rocking horse do da to get hold off as one of mine is missing :evil:

Don't they look so much better than the Renault lights!

For the side I need to build a small panel to cover the hole (about the size of a B-poat cap). Just waiting for it to stop raining so I can get out there and make it. I'll post a photo as soon as it's done.

how much will this rear lights kit cost? I mean the whole carbon fibre rear panel + the lights with the switches ready to be plugged on.

I'm still waiting for my fabricator to give me a final answer on this! and have yet to pursuade Lotus' harnes supplier to sell me the right connectors. I'll be pushing it this week to get a difinitive price but have been cought between a rock and a hard place so far. The CF and Composite E Glass panels require very specialist equipment to fabricate to a pro motorsport standard.
