I got new carpets sent to me for a fiver!!! (part of the parts sell off)
When I took the old ones out....well daddydude" did it for me! whilst wifeydude made the tea.. I found a big problem.....years of carpet wetting through leaking in has caused bad rust problems on the metal fabricated inner sill thingy! I have cleaned it all now, painted and waxoyled.......But hey guys..this could be a potential Elan killer....get your seats out and carpets out to check...passenger side was ok...but drivers side was bad!.

Just waxoyled mine, they were ok. The wife got the hump though when the waxoyl ran out of the sills onto the drive. Beware.
