132K miles (and it shows if you look at the grotty bits!)

It's an ongoing project

Just the one now, but this one's mine! - and it will be finished eventually..... - but also temporary custodian of a project until it is finished enough for Angie to drive it

...oh, and a 2006 Freelander destined for the jungles of The Gambia - 4500 miles across roads, desert and tracks - what could possibly go wrong?

Damn right! It was taken an hour ago. There was no way I was going to open my bonnet on Sunday - I'd already got enough water in my footwells thank you! They're still full of newspapers...

Neil,

Is your O2 sensor cable secure there? Mine was left off by a garage and was resting on one of the belts  Fortunately I found it before it chewed through the wires (although it did a good job on the cover for the wires)!

good eye, Ailwyn! Neil you should move the electrical connector junction to the other side of the headlight motor -- there's a little hole in the headlight mount that the connector is supposed to plug into as well to secure it there (I can just see that on your picture).

I sense a pattern involving the grinding/removal of "Isuzu" and body colour valve covers. Very pretty!

Thanks Ailwyn and Doug. :D
I did wonder about that when installing it.
I was confident that the wire couldn't snag on any moving parts, but have now moved it as per your recommendation, and have to admit that it's a lot neater.

Tigerdog, if you're going to go down that route, then it's just as important to remove the two surplus lugs on the LHS of the oil filler cap and on the RHS of the "LOTUS" (and to fill the remaining holes).

Thanks, Neil! Actually, my first task will be to acquire an Elan. Then the fun can begin.
