Well, it's been 6 months since I posted, so I thought the thread must deserve a bump
I see the question about clear fronts has been asked a couple of times and I'm now offering a reduced price to LEC members of £52.50 inc amber bulbs and 1st class recorded post(U.K). If you still haven't fitted them, now's the time.
The rears are also still available, but only made strictly to order.

High praise

- must say you were an excellent assistant product developer, and that was a great fitting guide you did for the rears too
Remember that 'other' car we did the fronts for, well I've just done clear rear fogs for the Gen7. I'll mail you pics and details shortly. 6 pairs should be arriving with owners 2moro. I think you'll know where to find my thread

Just order some of these from Richard, looking forward to getting them. I've also got some clear side repeaters on the way.
Just had a go at removing the old ones. The sidelight lenses unscrewed easily but as far as the side repeaters go snowballs and hell spring to mind so I think its going to have to be a delicate blend of surgeon like precision and extreme violence to get them out.
I just can't seem to squeeze the clips in at all to pop it out. Is there a knack to this before I break out the dremel?

I am fairly sure mine were held in mainly by Silkaflex. I don't recall having difficulty removing them once it was all released from the back of the lense. A nice sharp Stanley knife and a bit of care, job done. Access was from behind the (A?)panel, you can see it with the door wide open.
Hope this helps

Yeah, I've been trying to get them out from inside the door hinge area by squeezing the clips to pop them out but absolutely no way. The clips just seem solid. I can move them a little and there doesn't appear to be any sikaflex around them just that they will not budge

Got them out in the end. Pretty easy really. With the new ones in my hand I could see what I needed to do, press the clip in and keep levering that side until it pops out. Did them both in under 10 minutes even though I couldn't fully open the passenger door because of the garage wall.
My god they look so so much better. The old ones were really dull and grubby so the fact they're new makes a difference in itself. The clear makes it even better.

I will do if that is feasible. I must admit that I haven't read through this entire thread in detail but I thought that the conclusion was that it wasn't practical.
If its doable then yes I'll do it.
After I did the side repeaters last night Lisa came into the garage and spotted that something was different straight away and said that the car just looked 'newer'. All this before I pointed out what the actual change was.
Hopefully the new sidelight lenses will arrive today. Took off the old ones and cleaned the area around the lights right up in anticipation. I'll keep the old ones as spares even though one has a big crack in it. Whilst grubby and dull they came back to life with a bit of soapy water followed by plastic polish.
