orange clip

Hi, almost got a door pannel of ! only the lock button now. I know I may need a new clip as it will brake but how do you unclip it, I can't see how to even brake the little B .I don't want to damage any trim. Help please.
PS can I get the clip from local vauxhall dealer if so what part do I ask for ?

you have to prise it of with a screw driver. Replacements are available, but I don't know the code

An alternative is to drill a small hole in the middle of the orange clip, put a self-tapping screw in the hole and pull the clip off using a pair of pliers. It has the advantage of being able to re-use the clip and avoids contact with the surround.

Thanks will have another look at them. I have found a pic of one but can't really see what clips to what, is it a straight out pull needed or top or bottom first ?

It sort of pops\clips around a vertical threaded rod, it is help on by the springyness (is that a word) of the plastic, so that it stays fixed on the rod and cannot slide u[ and down it has sort of ribbed bits that lock onto the threaded portion of the rod.....hope that helps, prise them of carefully and nothing else gets damaged....oh remember th door panel will still not come off as there is a screw behing the door lock pin that needs to be taken out as well! so to cut a long story short, it just pulls off, Oh and snaps in the process of course

I replaced my door lock pins with Aluminium ones (I think they look great but only got a luke warm response from people on here)

So, I have a couple of new clips I think! PM me with your addresss and I will pop them in the post if you need them, bloody rubish fire engine orange load of dross that they are!!

get a small jewler's type flat screwdriver and insert it on either side, pry up a bit and then push it further toward the center--then just turn the screwdriver to pry it up and pop it off the rod

worst case use one from each side -- I did it without breaking the clip -- afterwards I got more clips though, but never needed them

once you do it and see how it connects then it is simple, but yes it is just a friction fit around the rod in the back

I found it very easy with 2 tiny screwdrivers. Use one to pry at the bottom corner, either side is fine. Then another one to pry from the top once the bottom one give you a little gap on the top.

I've never broken mine even after 20 times of doing this or so. Really want to just pop the new one in but the original one is still in one piece

My speed is getting better and better over time. Now in 3 seconds, clip out.
