Well Ailwyn, i got married, had 3 kids, got divorced, remarried, then 2 M100's

JPS M100 was built from bare chassis up to create one off M100 in the mould of JPS Team Lotus

Unless his chip and the wastegate can keep boost pressure below 1 bar???
The conversion probably wouldn't give a much higher maximum power output [except for gains in efficiency - less heating of the intake air?] than is achievable with a stock turbo, although it should be more sustainable; the main advantage should be less lag and greater mid-range power?

Stevo,
I used Cheltenham radiators (Freephone 0800-0430014 or 01242-235190) for a replacement Garrett turbo for my Ford Focus when it went pop. Very helpfull and next day delivery for a brand new one at the lowest price I could source - £200 cheaper than from Ford !!
Also, Turbo Technics (01604-705050) were v. helpfull. Good website
www.turbotechnics.com with comprehensive turbo information and tips
Might be worth giving them a buzz ?

And they list the
Elan turbo although it is POA! They also say that intercoolers are available.

What Ekapol is trying to say is; After I finish building our kits it will be a straight foreward swap over. No other extrodinary modifications will be needed. Final output power will be similar if not slightly greater due to less lag and cooler intake temps due to the larger compressor wheel. On the other hand, should anyone wish to upgrade injectors and remap the ECU much greater powe levels can be achived.
Must....................Go...............Faster

Marie, what is your reason for changing turbos if there is little gain? Are you planning on doing the other upgrades you mention?
If the project works out will you be willing to supply a kit?

My guess is that you would do this as part of an upgrade path, that would be my reasoning anyway.

Probably when you take it out the garage and drive it.

Now I understand
No sense in two people chasing the same project - I look forward to seeing your handywork. Are you doing a new manifold or an adaptor for the stock one?
Good luck!

so let me get my head round this...
a garret is built better, spools up faster, is easyer to get parts for and can handle 1.5 bar? with the adaptor plate it will fit our manifold but needs a custom stiffy? we can run it on the stock fuel set up at 0.9bar with an everest chip(about220-230bhp) but have the option of fitting a 3 bar map, uprated fuel pump, bigger injectors and a new programable ecu in order to run over 0.9 bar and up to 1.5(about 260-270bhp?)?
is that about right?

Sounds like an absolutely mental amount of time, trouble and expense for only about 35-45BHP over what he's currently got.
Then how long will the head gasket, rings and bearings last?

Striking fear into the hearts of duplicate posts everywhere...!

Don't know what yours is reading Neil but my S2 is managing 165 bhp (as tested by Peco) with the large bore exhaust and everest... admitedly, the timing may well be out, but even if it were an SE pushing 200bhp, adding 70 bhp seems like a worthwile effort, and to be honest I think 270 max is conservative given that Costas has 360bhp from 1.7bar.

so.........
how much is an ecu, injectors, 3 bar map sensor going to cost? and where is the best place to buy them?
oh, and i would think the injectors and s**t is easy enought to bolt on but dosen't a reprogramable ecu take a bit of setting up?

Think u`ll be talking at least another grand on top
ECU will need wiring & mapping,
ailwyn
are those figures at the fly? Pinky did 206bhp at the fly on Peco`s rolling road.
Wouldn`t mine a wee bit more power ie 240bhp but 2k+ is alot to spend when it`s possible u could get more lag, which i don`t want

Think i`ll stick a MBC on
