Well, there's only one option here:-

Dico to lend a pair of TCA's to Gareth for his fabricator to copy in SS.

He can match to shore rating of the poly bushes to the original material, so the Lotus designed handling shouldn't be affected - that said, he may offer alternatives if people want them - after all, Lotus were sticking to rubber, Polyurothane (spelt wrong ? ) wasn't about so much 20 years ago!

No problem, even if we need to get some specially made, having seen Jamie's reply on Lotus costs, I'm sure there must be options out there!

Whilst Gareth is away in sausage&beer land, I have been busy on the bush front

I have sent a couple of polyurethane ones to the fabricator to see how they match up - I had to spend most of an afternoon sorting through parts bins to try and find something suitable from 'stock' items. It is possible to have some custom-made, but the minimum order is 100 units.

The outer bush is VERY close to that used in a sierra cosworth track control arm, and the inner bush is close to the inner wishbone for a Rootes Sunbeam.

The Cossie item needs to be shortened, and the Rootes one should be a straight fit. Depending on order quantity, they MAY be 'adjusted' at the factory, otherwise they will need individual machining.

They can provide them in any shore rating we require, although the 'samples' are 90-shore - the original rubber is either 70 or 80, depending on the particular item.

Price wise, they are listed at about £11 a corner, plus VAT, so with a bulk discount they will be about £80 a set of 8.
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

Gareth,

When i went to him back in the summer(?) he gave me those ones as free samples, so any extras will need to be purchased.

This probably isn't a big problem, as long as we're happy with the sizes/shore ratings as per the samples.

Anything else will need to be a 'special order' and subject to a minimum of 100 units.

I'm not in a possition to visit him personally this week (as it's about 50 miles round trip into the wilds of Somerset) but he is availlable on the interweb at www.superflex.co.uk (online ordering is possible) and lists his phone number if your fabricator wants to talk directly with him.

Not (necessarily) trying to pass the buck, just minimise on any confusion which may arrise from 'lost in the translation' phone calls and then with the current uncertainty of Royal Mail, any postal problems via myself/yourself etc. and the rapidly approaching date of 4th November!

The units originally supplied were:-

SPF0706 6192705 Track Control Arm Inner Bush; Two Top Hats & One Stainless Steel tube (Uses 12mm bolt) Cosworth, 4x4 & Early 1990's 2L Ghia - £11.10 inner bush)

can't find the part number, but it was a Rootes Sunbeam part, for the outer bush (I will look when i get home later - work computer won't let me search for that page  )

also when you took your wishbone down to go over the bushes with him did you math the lengths of the bushes up.....I only ask as once the bush is in it looks longer than before (length = what I mean is the point at which the bolt enters to the point where it exits the bush)
cheers

Gareth,

In the order of raised queries:-

outer bush part number is now found to be:-
SPF1059 5220479 Front Lower Inner Wishbone Top Hat Section Bush & Stainless Steel Tube - £10.19

The guy is called Chris WITOR, and his phone number is 01749 678152

from the website PLEASE NOTE: We will be closed for stock taking from Monday, 22nd October until Friday, 26th October 2007

also, there will be an approx 7% price rise from 1st January 2008 (last increase was 4 years ago!)

The cosworth bushes as provided were a few mil too long (2 part bush) and need to be shortened (also the stainless centre tube), the one-part bush is the same size as the one fitted in my wishbone.

I've just stuck a vernier caliper on the wishbone and the one-part bush is 48mm (inner steel tube) with a 16mm bore.

the 2-part bushes are 45mm tube, and 12mm bore
