Even better......... I've spoken to our component people at Stevenage and they have a contact in AMP. Can you e-mail me some decent pictures and I'll see what favours we can get - we stand a lot better chance than going in cold.

I have a supplier, it's the same supplier as Lotus. Not sure about prices though but they have been really helpful with particular sizes of seals etc.
I was going to pay you a visit with my pot of bulbs, a bit late in the year for bulbs but they don't know that...

Not that I'm trying to stir the pot or suggesting that Phil's work isn't going to be fantastic looking but.........

For whatever reason I've just not been 100% sold on the rear panel replacement designs I've seen. I do think they look nice and likely an improvment over the originals but, to me, there's just something missing i couldn't put my finger on. Albeit that styling will always be personal to everyone.

I then saw these on eBay. They're rear panels for the Esprit. They look very similar to the rear panels others have made for their Elans BUT, if you look closely, there's some contouring around the lights. To me, this makes the panel look much better and less "flat" across the back. Just thinking out loud and trying to help...................I think that's what they call it

Yeh, I considered a mach for the Esprit 'facelift' panel but didn't want to reproduce it for this project. This panel is designed as an M100 replacement and designed to fit the Original shape of Peter Stevens design.
However, that's not to say I'm not going to a complete reshape of the rear end.
The esprit is a different shape and size and you would get the Esprit panel to fit but with heavy distortion. Look how much panel space there is above and below the lights compared with the Elan. To add the recess would look quite different again.
But if you want a one off, then I can do that for you. Just bear in mind there is a lot less space on the M100 and the Esprit is almost a vertical face so you’d have to chop up the Transom panel at the back of the boot.

I wouldn't suggest that the Esprit panel would fit in any way, just admiring the design and the "less flat" looking profile. I don't know if doing this on a panel for the Elan would look good or not - this may not be the right type of detail to add to a panel for the Elan at all.

Yes they do! I get what you are saying about the aesthetics of the sculptural shaping. I am definately with you on that! It's a good comment on the panel design its self Mr Lover. For me the solution would be to buy a Facelift V8 GT.
