So, are we going to the Seloc thing at Castle Combe on Sunday?

I think today (tonight) will be the last time at which we can order tickets.

Ironically, you can camp at the SELOC thing.

it needs a decision cos i don't think from reading the blurb that you can get tickets at the gate. So it would mean commitment now. Just a thought about the other halves though - how do they feel about it? Just thinking that they may have been sold on longleat

UK Outlook for Friday 13 Jul 2007 to Sunday 22 Jul 2007:
There looks to be little sign of an end to the generally unsettled pattern, with showers or longer spells of rain. The more prolonged rain is likely to fall in Scotland, but heavy showers could occur anywhere. High temperatures are expected in eastern districts until early next week, but heavy and thundery showers are also likely, which may persist well into the night. Thereafter, temperatures should return to near or a little below the seasonal average, with showers chiefly during the daytime. The best of the sunshine is likely in the south and occasionally clear nights could lead to relatively low temperatures. There may also be some windy spells. There is a hint of more settled weather in the south towards the end of the period.

WAHHHHHH! Had a nightmare week this week. I Think my starter motor on the lotus needs attention. When I try to start I just get a click and doesn't attempt to turn over. Sounds like it's the starter motor contacts going by Candles' post

On Monday popped across to Cite d'Eurpoe and my water pump on the renault gave up in Cailais ferry terminal car park so am without the renault until that gets fixed.

Additional to this michelle gave her tigra back that she swapped for her mini because she didn't like it. The garage had already sold her mini so she hasn't got a car either. So going from 3 cars we have none usable at present.

In light of this, I'm unsure of whether we'll be able to make it this weekend. Better not book us up for a table. Sorry. :cry:

re starter motor have you put the car in say 2nd gear and then given the car a rock backwards and forwards. Also a piece of wood place on the SM housing and given a sharp crack. this method used to work with the old mini anyway when it got stuck.

Sorry to hear about your probs.

Are you CERTAIN that the Elan problem isn't caused by a flattish battery - changing the contacts is a non-trivial task...

Pleased to hear the Tigra has been given the elbow, though. Bl%%dy Vauxhalls!

Thank you chris, I really apprecitate your offer. I should be getting my renault back tomorrow, so if i can't get the lotus working I'll at least have that. Mechanic showed me my water pump. The bearing was completely shagged and it only had one blade of the impellor left!

I had the jump leads on it as well when I was trying to start but no joy. I haven't checked the connections to the starter yet. Do you know if the contacts be changed with the starter in situ or will I have to remove it?

I suppose this should be in the 'Problems" section really.

rob i have had battery probs with the VX :roll:

believe me i couldn't get that to turn over even though i was jumping off D's car - the battery was that fekked. A drop test meter will tell you if the battery is well and truly knackered. Try connecting the jump leads to the elan with the donor car running for at least 20 mins before you try to start it if it tries to turn over but doesn't start this will be another sign that the batteries fekked.

Having just read the Brokerswood camping terms and conditions I was slightly alarmed to note that the use of disposable tray BBQs are not permitted. :roll:

I guess that is there to protect the ground from scorching. It does not mention non tray BBQs.

Off to Homebase I think for a cheapo.
