need a new seal but dont know what i want

Hello everyone,

Ive just bought an elan after 10 years of looking at them....
I need a new seal which resides between the roof and the top of the passenger side window.
Ive done some digging about and think I need an LHS intermediate seal can someone please clarify this.

If it's the piece in the photo, then I think you need the header seal(think that's what it is called). It runs above the windscreen and down both sides.

The intermediate seal is the small 7 inch one in the middle off the side windows.

This is the seal part I require, the existing is damaged.
Where can I get this and whats the cost

You need the Hood Header seal A100B6165S or the later B100B6165S if it's a late SE or S2.

The seal does not stop at the corner, it goes right around the front of the hood and along the other side.

Think they are still available from Lotus but are in the region of £250 or more.

Try trim-tech for a complete set of seals at about £300 (sure the header seal is include)

They have both listed, but with different part numbers.

The early one is £182 + vat and p/p

mines a 91 on a J plate

Before VIN # M 8161 it's the old style, after this VIN # it's the later.

That's of course your roof hasn't been changed already.

how does you drip channel look on your roof???...
its the only way to tell......
the se original the drip channel as it came down the rear falling pillar (thats the back edge of the side windows...vertically).....was straight where as the s2 curved where it landed on the rear deck.....

clear as mud.....

I need the passenger side seal that runs down the rear(b post? by seatbelt?) edge of the window and also the 7 inch bit
is this LEFT HAND SIDE intermediate or? complicated isnt it
i might do a diagram for everyone once ive got this sorted

Passenger side on RHD car is the Left Hand Side.
Drivers Side on RHD car is the Right Hand Side.

Seal coming down the hood at the rear of the window/b-post is the Fall/Falling Pillar Seal.
The short seal running along the top of the door glass is the Intermediate seal.
Header Rail seal runs along the top of the windscreen.
Rear deck seal runs under the plastic rear window.
A-post seals run down the front of the door glass/side of the windscreen.
