window switch

Postby juniorjames » Tue 24.07.2007, 18:55

appear to have a problem with my electric window. does not go up or down. feels like the rocker switch has moved. before i take it apart was looking for advice on whether or you need to remove just the plastic around it or the whole fascia around the handbrake etc. Would hate to break something whilst trying to get in there (expensive parts not available....)

Cheers in advance

you can just lift the switch away from the centre console and disconnect the wires, you can then test the window switch by shorting out the wires

One of my switches started to break up and only worked when it wanted to.
When I prised it out, I found that the bottom half of the switch itself had come away from its mounting.
I stuck it together with duck tape, which held it for a few weeks. This bought me some time to get a repalcement from a Vauxhall dealer.
Details of the GM part number can be found on another thread in this section.
I seem to remember that the new one seemed a little loose when I first fitted it, but it soon bedded in.
