I agree Geoff, but you pay for that, cheapest prices in newbury area Holiday inn express are about £59 a night, although they have 24hr bar indoor pool etc, you get what ya pay for.

I am easy

i would prefer a bit of refinement with some nice facilities, but we must remember some are on a budget.

peoples thoughts :!:

Yes. Be up for a friday and saturday night......maybe a bit of go-karting on the saturday afternoon, bowling in the evening, local pub and then curry to finish the night...

...just some ideas

Be good to book something up sooner rather than later. C'mon Steve, its your thread which means you are in charge of organising and booking the events :-D

i am still up for this, & still looking for a suitable location, we need to agree on where i have picked somewhere off the M4 as this seems to be accesible to most. So either Bracknell, Reading, Basingstoke or similar, we know we can get rooms for £15 but this is out of town, in town ya looking at £26 or we can have pool all night bar etc for about £50. i am easy :)

can everyone ho is interested please say which hey would prefer.

Outer town.
In town.
All facilities.

Stevie,

Just my two pennorth.

If we're in town then we don't need to rely on drivers to ferry us back to hotel. If we're a part of say, a party of 15, then we would have to use 4-5 people as sober drivers if they car-shared in snotters. On the other hand, the out of town places are probably safer places to park the cars ... but there's normally no bar at all ...

Reading, Basingstoke and Bracknell are within easy striking distance for me - I don't want to be a party pooper, but I would probably just go home for the night ...

Reading has the best night life by far out of the three places mentioned.

For the Sunday, we might consider a spin and a pub lunch - there are some excellent country pubs in these parts. If the weather is Ok, we could ramble by the Thames?

Cheers

if we feel like doing a bit of go karting there is a track near. http://www.combe-events.co.uk/
we would need to check availabilty of karting as they have events on at wkns.

its not the final destination, i am just looking along the m4 at suitable locations. as the m4 seems accesible to most.
if people could assist me & let me know ho far from their postcode they are willing to travel, i could narrow the search.
