Sun, Sea & Burning Pier - W-s-M - 31st August 08 IS OFF!

Postby paulwatkins » Thu 17.05.2007, 20:42

I've just signed up to this on SELOC and the guys have asked me to extend the invitation to Lotus Elan Central members. It could be a good event.

The details are below. If you're interested, sign up on the SELOC site and add your name

Sun, Sea & Burning Rubber - Weston-super-Mare

11th.Aug.07 (Sat)

The sun, sea part:

Meet from 10:00

Bring your Lotus to the seaside and enjoy the great british summer with other like minded people.

I have managed to secure exclusive use of the Beach Lawns within Weston Super Mare, which are situated on the sea front and has space for around 200 cars.

This venue is used during the summer by numerous car clubs for meetings and shows.

So come along, meet a large number of lotus owners from the west area and beyond and show everyone what great cars we own.

The Burning Rubber part:

Weston is ideally placed to easily access the mendip hills and some great driving roads. I will be organising some short runs during the day to take advantage of these assets.

Sign up to SELOC and add your name to the list. :D

Me & Mrs are signed up for it! (I can cope with a whole 1.6 miles to get there :-D ).

If anyone is thinking of making a weekend or a few days of it, perhaps we can sort out something for the Sunday? BBQ and beer? any suggestions?
Dave

Just the one now, but this one's mine! - and it will be finished eventually..... - but also temporary custodian of a project until it is finished enough for Angie to drive it

...oh, and a 2006 Freelander destined for the jungles of The Gambia - 4500 miles across roads, desert and tracks - what could possibly go wrong?

I will be up for this especially if Dave is cooking :-D

This could be good fun. I have seen a few car shows on the lawns and they have all been really good.

It will be nice to have some decent cars on the sea front rather than some of dagenhams finest with added humbro kits

Count me in!

Are we having a short convoy run onto the beach, or is it a case of see you there at 10 o'clock?

Clemo, if you're wanting to call here on the way to the beach for a cuppa and a comfort break, you're welcome.

(likewise anyone else who is making a last-minute journey for this one now the sun is out :poke: )

Hope it is "sun, sea and burning rubber" :burnout: for you lot and not "wind, rain and damp jeans" that's predicted up here.

I know the Pier is no longer here, but this is a good day out in (possibly) sunny Weston!

If nothing else, go treasure hunting under the pier

The uptake to this on SELOC hasn't been as vigorous as last year......probably due to the current climate which we are currently enduring!
