The only blemish on the day was having to drive through some rain on the way there.

It made me put my roof up :smt086

Afternoon chaps :)

Yet another interloper from LEF here :-D

Just popping in to say how much I enjoyed yesterday evening's Five Mile meet, not too mention seeing all your M100's. Very impressive :D

You may recognise my SE from the avatar. But more likely from the gearbox toons I played to the assembled company as I struggled to find reverse  Bloody plastic clutch hoses  ;)

A big thanks to Rob (and the Lotus god Gerald T) for organising/coordinating the event :smt023

Oh, hope you don't mind Rob, but I've cross posted your photos on LEF (guess which bright spark managed to leave his camera at home?)

Welcome, James. Glad you liked our little collection of Elans.

I liked the Esprit collection too. I have always liked the Esprit, but to see so many together was an impressive sight.

I am afraid I did remember hearing you struggle to get into reverse. I hope the adjustment is not too serious.

It's one of those "They all do that, sir" situations

The standard clutch hose is just a bit of red plastic pipe. Fine when everything's nice and cold. But the combination of hot weather and a hot engine compartment means that after a long, fast run (or sitting in traffic) the plastic softens. Consequently, when the clutch pedal is depressed the hose expands longitudinally. As a result the clutch doesn't disengage properly, hence the problems - the so-called Red Hose Syndrome.

Fortunately, the cure is simple. Replace the hose with a nice braided item. Next job on Gerald T's 'to do' list :)

Your welcome here James

East Mids put on another good show for LEC

and we all had a very good evening apart from Carl getting shat on!!!

If u ever find your way to Ipswich it gets a bit lonely here. I only hear rumours of another M100 here, pacific blue, but I thinks its a garage queen. Either that or a bit like the lost legion. A haunting vroooom, only ever heard and never seen.

Monty would be proud - he usually does it in the ashtray.
