Hood not fitting correctly after respray

I've just had the rear of my car resprayed to repair the pealing lacquer and when I went to pick it up today I noticed that the hood at the rear was not sitting right on the hood stowage panel, there was a quarter inch gap that was not there before. The bodyshop initially denied that they had done anything to the hood although a young lad asked me to show him how the hood should go up and down and then asked "do you need to push these arms in to lock the rear of the hood in place" Can anyone point me in the direction of the relevant section of the service notes that deals with adjusting the hood as I have left the car with them for the time being for them to sort it. It does appear that someone has not put the hood down correctly and I am assuming that something is not lined up correctly now

Sounds like they might have forced the hood and bent a bit...

I had a similar problem, check out "Hood at Speed" simple fix, just requires a bit of brute force.

Thanks for that, it sounds similar to my problem. I've got the car back now and the hood seems to be sitting better. The bodyshop phoned our nearest Lotus dealer and they reckoned that the problem had been caused by the elan being put in the oven after painting with the hood folded away. They recommended that the bodyshop should put the hood up, soak it with water and place it back in the oven . It is better now but Im not convinced that it is cured.
