Red goop!!

Postby vowler » Fri 07.09.2007, 16:30

Had all the dash, facia and gear lever housing off today... all the adhesive that has been used to hold on most of the brackets has turned to red jelly!! Very unpleasant and very difficult to remove. In the summer here the shade temperature gets to about 46..so God knows how hot it is behind the facia!! Anyone else have similar problem??

... here is Dubai. Very hot at the moment (45 ish). All the glued on brackets had basically come off and the red goop was leaking round the dials onto the front of the facia... and through the edges of the clock!! Managed to clean most of it off and reglue brackets with gripfill. Hopefully they will hold.. although the polyeurothane foam that the facia and tunnel housing is made of is pretty slippery stuff..
