1) Yes, Tigerdog. That's my genuine Lotus coolant tank, still I have the original Lotus part bag in the picture. :) That's my 2nd new one.

Image
2nd new one.

1st new tank broke too. (picture below). That one was from a Vauxhall dealer, also a GM part. There is no difference between these 2 tanks.

Image
1st new tank. Notice it also broke at the same place.

2) That's my "Foreplay" tube pre-amplifier I built. Fun DIY project, great value. All point-to-point wiring. Now it has all the upgrade circuits/parts you can imagine. Sounds pretty much comparable to any "cost is no object" world famous designered pre-amp out there. :-D

Image
Anticipation constant current source upgrade. Auricaps, magnet wires, etc.

Image
Sweetest Whisper Stepped Attenuator upgrade.

Image
Full body shot with my quick studio lighting setup. Cardas RF shielding RCA caps there.

Ok.. off topic.. but heh, I can paint a stripe or 2 on my box too :)

You've convinced me to stick with my old, faded, but reliable tank. Stangely enough I had the same problem with replacing the coolant overflow tank on my Maserati... finally gave up & used the old scummy one!

Remind me when we meet up (someday!) to tell you about my Paragon System E preamp, all point to point 1/2 12AX7A preamp with external power supply that I've had since I was in college... You'll groove on the 40-step matched metal-film volume control and the paralleled polypropylene/polystyrene caps.

I just think it's a BRG Elan/audio thing...

WHY? WHY? WHY? WHY?

Why the hell did I log on this forum again??? I have managed to cure the "Sh4rk Upgrade Virus" after many years and 10s of thousands of Euros spent, I am enjoying the ride of the Lotus every single day and I was satisfied at full with all the works that have been made to it. Its just a dream to own such a heavily upgraded car without any problems at all for over 2 years. Just some typical visits for oil changes!

I had persuaded myself that all that could be done is done. I kept telling that there is nothing more to do. Just sit back, drive, and enjoy all the modern sport supercars wonder "What the hell was that black thing that passed me?".

And now this? WHY? WHY? WHY? WHY?

I am going tomorow to DSP and find out how to make a Hood like that. Its so agrressive it made me jump of my chair when I saw it going "WOOOOOOOW!"

I AM BACK IN BUSINESS BOYS!!!!

Costas + perseverence + DSP + a seemingly endless supply of money = mid-engine Elan.

lol ok even though I have no clue of what "perseverence" means, it cant be bad I suppose, it would be fun that in a fictitious dream life some chaps from this forum could gather and build it while having enormous fun. I seriously am very afraid to change anything in the car especially the engine bay because at the moment and for a looooong period of time everything works just perfect.

Nice photo`s :smt023

BTW how u finding the front splitter? ie does it make the car more stable at high speeds :?

like to fit one to Pinky but think it` wouldn`t last 10 minutes as the rubber lip already rubs on my drive way

Thanks Monty. They are from Esprit S4 1994. I posted more info in page 4 of this thread.

It has been being on err... Stripey :-D for almost half a year now. Might be just 1/2 an inch lower than the rubber lips.

Weird but true. The front splitter makes the car track better at higher speed, and you -CAN- feel it. ;-)

Monty, just paid a local bloke $400 to pour a cement "incline" between the road & the driveway. I've not even seen it yet but the GF says it looks great (she made him do it OVER... women sometimes, seem worth it!). Will snap a picture at the end of this month when I begin moving the (3) cars down.

Was tired of having to c-r-e-e-p up & down the drive not to scrape anything.

Nice pics. I was just thinking minutes ago how nice it'll be back in Florida being able to send pics like this again. Just took it for granted all my life.
