Of course, the other benefit of having a car with a boot as tail end Charlie is so that there's a depository for all the bits that fall off the Esprits! :-D

Thing is Guys, I was last out the Services as I had the most distinguishable car - an Elan :wink:

- Kimbers was on two ( yes 2) wheels :shock:

and after we cleared the tailback on the M11, I passed one broken down Esprit (with 2 more in attendance) (forgive me BigSi), then left Katie in her V8 for dead, passed two more as the A14 split to the A11, passed two more who had to refuel after less than 30 miles, passed another 2 in the next petrol station about ten miles later and then waited for them, then the three of us waited for the rest to catch up. Now tbh another two had been playing at speeds in excess of 69 mph and weren't to be seen again until the final rendezvous.

Not sure how I would have coped if I'd got into 3rd gear though :-D

As much as I like the Esprits (lots), I don't think an S1 is particularly fast.

Anyway, back to topic:

What time does this event start? How about meeting up an hour before at Watford Gap? We can then convoy down the country's quietest M-Way (M45) and then possibly find a few back roads to finish the journey off?

LEF do not look like they have arranged anything yet, so maybe it would be nice if some of them could join us too?

Nope it's about 7.2 secs 0-60. But any of the Stevens (even the N/A) better 6.5. My S4 (and no I haven't got it yet Sy, collect it on Friday morning) is 4.8 0-60, but it's the punch in the back overtaking speed that it excels at.....and no before you pedantic lot say "I thought it was an Esprit not an excel?" I meant is best at! :roll:

Right we're starting to book it now. See our LEF post for concessionary rate (but you have to pay up front). There will be convoys you can link up with but our's will start in Norfolk on Saturday, go to Colchester, to London (to pick up one of the guys whose car is off the road) then North up the M1.

Anyone who wants to join anywhere on the route let me know!

I should be refurbing my brakes in Colchester that week, then travelling back to MK or the Porridge Pot (currently undecided about that bit), so would like to join you at Colchester if possible.
If I stop over at home, I will meet you at the hotel in the morning.

LEF are organising a convoy on Saturday, starting in East Anglia and working its way through via London to The Porridge Pot for a few beers the night before.

I am joining (from Colchester to MK at least). Any others Elaners care to join me?

weddings at 1:30.....
done by 2:30.....
2 hours at the reception...
home for 5...
2 hour drive down
should be there for 7 I hope

Could either Sy or Nige advise if anyone has spoken to Alan Morgan of Club Lotus?
I saw him at Hethel and Club Lotus have offered us our own parking if we would also like to organise an LEC convoy in.
But I've no idea what's been arranged (if anything) so far, and don't want to tread on anyone's toes.
