OK lads and lasses

Hotel now changed from 2007 as they couldnt accomodate us on the weekend we are there in 2008 and also they dont have enuff rooms for the lot of us. So we are going somewhere different- even managed to get a cheaper rate which will be about £25pppn with no single supplement.

I have reserved 20 rooms just in case. There will be a cut off point arranged for spring 2008 so we can confirm numbers without loss to my credit card.

Main probs were finding a place with the number of rooms we need and somewhere with parking for our cars.

I will not be doing anything about the ferry till nearer spring either.

Lets get brains in gear and try to have the numbers sorted by March give or take and then I will sort it for you.

Do you have an agenda and cost estimate?

John - if you don't fancy IoM we could always do a w/e at Big Erch's - no need to take precious holidays, great roads between you and Gairnshiel, Maggie could stay in relative luxury and you'd save £500 into the bargain.

Plus you've got distilleries up the road, 100mph roads with no speed cameras and we could do a track day at the Lecht - albeit in go karts !

No brainer really

Hotel looks good!
(better than many alledgedly **** ones i've stayed at before)

I am interested in the trip, but won't be in a possition to add my name until nearer the time, depending on financial situation  .

I know that guarantees are few and far between in this life, but any idea on 'late availlability' of hotel space/ferry etc at that time of year?

eg, how 'full' would the island be in September? I assume the ferry wouldn't be too big a problem, and the hotel room *may* be availlable (or else I can sleep in the car park with a tent and be a security guard for the cars :-D )
Dave

Just the one now, but this one's mine! - and it will be finished eventually..... - but also temporary custodian of a project until it is finished enough for Angie to drive it

...oh, and a 2006 Freelander destined for the jungles of The Gambia - 4500 miles across roads, desert and tracks - what could possibly go wrong?

Last minute ferry availability will be the problem for you and also additional cost if you book too late.

Good choice Dave

I rented a cottage near to the Grand Island main last year when working at Jurby. Its a real old luxuary place that's just been let go a little over recent years so It used to be really nice now its slipped to just plain nice hence the (harsh IMHO) ** rating. We actually passed it on the road out of Ramsey going north on that last day (it may have been a bit blurred)

Well positioned to hit the mountain section hard in the early post dawn hours as well :-D

And tragically the best way to get to it from Douglas is around the TT circuit backwards over the mountain course. Bit of a first day baptism of fire for the un-initiated. 8)

Thanx for the comments Joe- I think it will suit us well and as you noted this year there is a good curry house in Ramsey for one night.
The hotel is going to do a last night menu for us and a very early breakfast on the Monday before the return. So we get to do the mountain run really early a second time. Hairpin - what hairpiiiiiiiin!!!!!!!!
There are some other roads we did not get to do this year that I want to have a go at. Wont be very fast but will be very challenging. Steeeeeep.

Two SB's.... in one place at the same time.... how rare is that? I'll clone some plates for the trip.

OK folks were getting to the time where we need to be thinking about confirming rooms for those defo going. Suggest we try and do that by the end of March. Those not sure will have to take their chance at a later date but its quite a big place and there should be some availability there or thereabouts.
