Le Mans Classic
11 - 13 July 2008 - Le Mans

The Le Mans classic is a biennial event almost as popular as the original and annual 24 hour race. Historic cars have universal appeal and there’s no finer sight than a full grid of cars and drivers lining up, ears of corn style, to be first off on the formation lap. Practice sessions and the races are run on the full circuit and the 396 car entry is split into six grids. Each will race three times between 1600h on Saturday and 1600h on Sunday, with driver changes. Away from the track and around the Bugatti circuit the various car clubs will congregate – four thousand cars are expected, creating a wonderful museum of classic vehicles inside the track and on show. There are bars, restaurants, shops and memorabilia and an auction of cars on Saturday. On all our holidays dinner at the circuit on Saturday evening is included and there’s a choice of hotels in and around Le Mans. You can if you wish camp at the circuit and weekend hospitality is also available.

so whos interested then???

IIRC it cost about £350 for the weekend incl return ferry(portsmouth caen) camping and all tickets...its then just a case of how much you spend on food and drink :-D :drunk:

Would Geoff like to give us a clue as to the 'per person price' in the chateaux?

Phil Sloper and I are taking a group of 14 over. We have booked into the Campanile at Arnage, only 2 miles from the circuit entrance. They are charging us 98 euros per room per night, breakfast 16 euros per person.

If you need booking forms for the event Email clubs@lemansclassic.com giving your address.

Just been drooling over the entry - much the same as '06, (big Fords and Porsches, Lolas, Matra, etc, plus a Ferrari 512S & 330P3.)

Much more fun than watching a clutch of diesels or those ugly Sebring specials pounding round! :D

Gareth are you booking your tickets thru CL cos its roughly half price over standard entry costs. It will also allow you to park in the CL parking enclosure within the circuit.

we are a registered club with the ACO and as such we get the tickets at the same price as CL.....
in 2006 the registered lotus clubs were CL france, CLOG and the historic lotus register :-D
we are also taking a previous LM winner with us :-D
