G, I would love some of these and will surely need them in the near future, but what with all the other investment and work I have put into the car in the last 18 months, my bank balance and manager (wife) won't support it just yet.

With that in mind I won't be able to add myself to the list, but I presume you will be in a position to get more fabricated if the need arose, and before Lotus officially approved them.

Many thanks for your efforts in getting them done though. I am sure many an Elan owner could owe their cars future road-worthiness and indeed lives to your initiative!

right...
erm dont know how to say this......
I/we (the fab n me) have made a fauxpas....
when he said £200 for the pair what he meant to say was £200 each
he has been reading this thread and has spotted the mistake and has since spoken to me to explain.... :?
I have asked him to post here and hope he will do shortly.....
with the bushes probably coming in at £150 (yes thats £75 a side incl vat) it now makes this £550 rather than £350.....
I dont know what to say really its now not as good as it was......although its still £300 cheaper than PM..... :-)
I feel really bad about this and dont quite know what to do....
if anyone wants to take their name off the list I dont blame them.....other wise I'll keep this list going for the time being....

Good luck. I'm sure some will still take this offer on, particularly if they are currently not available elsewhere.

Sorry, I'm going to have to back out. I'll just replace the one that needs it, at $500 (inluding bushes). $1100+shipping from the UK is just too much for me. Thanks for the work, though. They would be nice to have.

I did think how the hell he was going to make a few quid at that price lol just shows that SW wasn`t to bad of a price, especially if you got them for £180  But there still cheaper than the Lotus ones and i`m sure people will still want them.

Gareth,
What about getting your man to also do them in steel and have them galvanised if thats a cheaper option? :?

First i would like to appoligise to Garath for the confusion on the final costings for the wishbones.A genuine missunderstanding happened between garath & myself and i thank him for trying to clear the problem up & for all the work he has put into this project.
For those still on the list, please remember that the wishbones offered by SW Lotus & PM are not stainless steel so therefore our price reflects the difference in material costs & a more labour intensive fabrication.I wouldnt like to guess what price Lotus would charge for a like for like wishbone.

The more I think about this group buy, the more my attitude is:

I don't need these right now
I can't afford these right now.
These are one of the most vulnerable parts of the car, so I must do my bit to avoid letting this group buy fall through.
I would rather have these available for when I do need them than be faced with a big bill when I can only get hold of inferior mild steel ones.
I should find a way to afford them.
I should not withdraw.
