theyre cheaper but I cant seem to find anything like a cabin....
all I can find is the 'seat' price
Id rather have a bed and pay more than kip in a chair for 9 hours :-D

TBH i haven't had good experiences with LD lines. IMO the seats for sleeping are really uncomfortable if you've got a man size frame and the snoring did my head in (i think enright13 was on board). I ended up with no sleep and then having to drive 200 miles :evil:

They do cabins though Gareth but you have to be quick to get them.

The other thing i found a little annoying is that they pack the cars in almost so that you can't get the door open. I'm paranoid about people opening the door out onto the Elan! Anyway just my experience, might have just been bad luck.

sod it.....brittany ferries for me and a nice cabin to sleep in....
after having spent a couple of hours in the bar of course :-D

Just been playing around on the Speedferries site. They are cheap, £64 return for the dates and times that i want. But are they Elan friendly, are they french or british run?

I have always used P&O and they have always got parked in a nice safe spot on board.

Speedferries look good on the face of it with cost and sailing times reduced but should i stick with the devil i know?

I use them all the time they even put a mat out if there is a problem with ground clearance and the boarding operators have opened the passenger door for Wendy, a really good service

We have been using speedferries for quite a while. They have been helpful getting the car on and off and I've never had a delay. Nice staff. too. Landing in Boulogne helps - it's a little further south than the tunnel or calais and fairly easy to navigate.

(only pi55er was the last trip where they parked me on a ramp and my handbrake is carp)

Speedferries have an excellent customer service feedback (so my neice tells me - she's Customer Service Manager!!!)

But i have never tried to get an Elan on it! (yet).
