So what's all this got to do with "Problems, help needed | Exhaust | My Peco's too noisy"? Looks like it's gone a bit off topic. Where's old Image when you need him? :-D

Yep. The only other thing worth mentioning is that the downpipe & frontpipe are 2 separate pieces from the factory with no flex anywhere. MY frontpipe is one piece with a flex-section & replaces BOTH factory pieces mentioned in the prior sentence.

Elanlover, who are you dealing with concerning the PCE?

Originally, I fell across the article mentioning this "upgrade" on the old, pre-crash site and contacted the two individuals who wrote up the document describing this item. Bill Sun put me onto the exhaust shop that built them and I talked live with "Jose" earlier in the week. The name of his outfit escapes me at this time (he's in Cali) but it could be JP Exhausts or something of the like.

Apparently, he made about a dozen or so around 6 years ago. We're going to touch base in the new year and he'll have a look for the mold and jigs he used. I told him there may be a few people interested so hopefully he'll feel motivated to have a good look around the shop.

Here's a pic of the Bill Sun PCE from DaveM's car. It's made from 2 different sizes of pipe welded together in the middle. The top of both pieces of pipe are hydraulically expanded in a standard tubing bender. It is what my local shop offered to do. I just prefer the smooth perfect funnel of the swagged PCE as made by Stan's Headers. BTW the remainder of the exhaust in this pic was made by Stage Six here in Jacksonville.

I'd be delighted to learn more about a possible "PCE" From Stan's headers if he can build a better one. I've made no comittment to Jose at all and if i never called him back in the new year I doubt he'd even remember we spoke. I was told the price to have Jose's PCE was aroud $250 including the ceramic coating. That was about 6 years ago so I suspect today's price would be higher albeit not too much higher.

Were you planning on having Stan's headers look into this any time soon???

I've had a nightmare with my outgoing email since my move. Bellsouth will be here Monday and I'll be switching from Comcast. I'm having my spare PCE sandblasted next week & will post pics/email to Stan's afterwards.

Called Stan's today. He was out for a funeral but the billing guy said "Stan knows all about that Isuzu stuff", as I'd mentioned he whose name shall not be spoken.

When I call back tomorrow should I spill the beans & say "Lotus" (ie - charge me more baby, oh yeah, you're expensive but you're so worth it), or just let them assume I'm an Isuzu schlub?

When I talk to people about parts for the engine/exhaust, etc. I simply say "Its for an Isuzu engine" and provide whatever details they require including saying something like "The engine that's in the XXX Isuzu model". I'd just prefer not to outright lie if I don't have to.

If you know what the price should be from previous sales then you could start off by saying "You've built this for an Isuzu engine for about $XXX and some Lotus owners have bought some in the past". Makes it hard for him to jack up the price if you already know what it is.

Justa keep ya updated Stage 6 received the 3 flex-sections yesterday. They can't do it until the 26th & i'ma gonna be outa da country in the West Indies, Dominic' exactamente. Although I could remove me pipe B4 I go they'd be closed at that time.

Ipso facto the manufacture of these pipes will begin in the new year.
