What are you on about? It lifted at the top of the hill! The whole of the Severn valley appeared to be filled with the stuff.

Good to meet (nearly) everyone and welcome to Simon.

Someone pick up the mantle then and get organising.

Will try my best to get me and the car there (as long as I have a few weeks to sort it out first) :)

Depends where people would prefer to go? Bristol area? South Wales / Brecon or something I dunno lol. Even a little meet at a nice pub/restaurant would go down a treat. Im open to ideas.

Brecon is a fab location depending on how far some are willing to come for the drive. Some time near the beginning of May? I know of a few really good pubs along the cannel leading up to the reservoir, waterfalls and summet.

As ever, due to my shift system, availlability is patchy.

If someone wants to throw up any suggestions for when, then if i'm availlable, we'll be there.

Brecon area sounds okay to me.

Dave,

As you're the awkward one, how about you give use some dates... late may or first weekend in june maybe? I'm on hols for a week from the 10th of June so mid-month is no good for me, failing that the end of june?

Ailwyn,

I just had a call from some guy called Kettle, he was looking for a Mr Pott, have you seen him??? :smt043 :smt044

I'm not awkward, as such - the shifts are in a set pattern and i know them for the next year or more - with notice i can usually sort it out.

My point is that if nothing gets set, then last-minute dates can be a bit more awkward to change.

I can give a set of dates when I'm about if it helps, but i don't want to be seen to be demanding dates to suit me, when they may be no good for anyone else.

I would rather that Chris (as it was his shout!) picks a couple of dates that suit him, and take it from there. (Or at least state if we are looking at daytime, weekend or weekday, evening sort of thing).

Don't forget that 24th May is Castle Combe.

I thought that while I was posting it, but I just didn't care :)

I propose that if we are going to make it a tour, to Brecon or wherever then it should be a weekend afternoon into early evening, planning on having a bite to eat at the agreed destination.

Off topic I know... What's the deal with Castle Combe, is it just a social or are those attending going on track?

Regarding Castle Combe.....this is in the wrong thread and Jones the Mod will tell you off :-D :-D :-D

But, as it could be considered a local event, I suppose it can stay!

Basically, there isn't much at Castle Combe other than the track (unlike Stoneleigh or Donington), but last year it was a great day out.

It generally depends on the weather (I tend to go there about 4 or 5 times a year - usually in summer).

We had our own parking area (Not sure if we should have done, or if Sy just took one over).

I see it as a mainly social event, with the track to watch, but Nige sees it as a full track day, with a social side - it depends what you're into.

As Angie won't let me track the elan, i have no option.

They do have a 'parade' lap though, between the am and pm sessions where anyone can get on the track in a convoy for a few low speed laps - we managed to blag enough tickets last year to get us all out together.

I had a pax ride with Nige which had the unfortunate side effect of leaving Angie in charge of the BBQ whilst i was out - Luckily Chris t and Spud will eat charcoal!!!!

Suffice to say, We'll be there, with a BBQ and some grub (Gazebo for the rain).

Brecon Beacons Tour - Date TBC - LEC & POC(Proton Owners Club)
With lots of photos to be taken on the day

Image

Ok heres my idea chaps and chappeses. I have quite often been out to Brecon Beacons as a day trip in the nice weather and it is ideal for a lil tour as there is a great road all the way through the national forest area and is about a 30-40ish trip of beautiful views and scenary.

I have several members of the Proton Owners Club that are also looking to me for organising them with a meet in my area and so I think it could be nice to join forces so that way we have a few more cars and good people included. Does anyone agree/disagree?

What I can do is go home tomorrow and plan out the route I would recommend and also highlight the location of the pub for food and several beauty spots for stopping at including the reservoir, waterfalls!!, canels and the old railway. I am also in agreal with a date around the end of end of May/June as with anyluck the weather will be more with us than it is at the moment lol.

If people would like this idea then I am happy to take responsibilty in planning and keeping those members involved, informed, both from here and on the Proton Owners Club if they agree? In any case both makes are the same organisation nowadays and with any luck can have a few of the Lotus tuned cars there from Proton memebers also.

Shall we make it a date?
