Welcome to 2008!

Thank you to all those who have expressed an interest so far! The good news (depending on if you like camping) is that altough all gite accomodation has been spoken for, there is plenty of space for camping, if that is your idea of fun

If anyone wants to tag along nearer the time then just give me a rough idea of numbers so I can warn the parents

Now I guess the question for now is which route to take, to maximise the fun driving?

Also it has been suggested that if any of us wanted we could also utilise parents as a base and pop off for a day or two further south.

This could provide us with the opportunity to traverse the huge bridge feature in Top Gear (the one with the Ford Gt etc).

I am happy to field all suggestions however realistic they may be .

There could also be the opportunity to get involved with some of those French Lotus owners?

All suggections welcome.

I wanted to do the Milau Bridge before top gear went there....
I do alot of work with Fosters and they were doing it a compnay I was doing some Consulting for so Ive only seen the design models and the drawings.......

have you seen how far south it is though......

Just got back from France today and have been discussing suggestions with my parents for interesting activities

My parents have kindly promised to devise a TREASURE HUNT that will involve exciting roads and interesting locations

Please feel free to keep those suggestions coming.

P.S. After carefull negotiations I have managed to negotiate a B&B cost from my parents. This will be 35 Euro per night for two people sharing. There are only two rooms available, so if this is for you make your intentions known

Oh and the gite is now booked

May I provisionally book a slot in the garden? I'll have a different job by then so I'm not sure what I'll be doing and if I'll be free - but I plan on doing a tour-de-europe sometime around then taking in the old nurburgring amongst other things - it'd be nice to pit-stop with some Elan-ers on my way round!

I believe there will be plenty of space (could easily camp 20 tents in the orchard alone)

There is PLENTY of space for camping so more than able to accomodate late arrivals etc.

Can`t see me going to this one (but u never know) as i`m thinking of doing Spa end off May, then off to the Ring then back to Spa to watch the Elise Racing but that all depends on the pound notes

Then again may be Dico will pull his pacific sick beast out and could jump in as a passanger

If you enjoy local entertainment, we could not have chosen a better week to go as Augan hosts the worlds largest accordion festival

Also the 14th July is Bastille day, so expect firework displays and live music throughout the week in the local towns

All in all there will be a multitude of entertainment for the evenings if we are brave enough to venture into the local community

My father has been industrious and there is now a proper toilet and shower facility being constructed
