Cross-posting: SELOC Sussex Run 3 Feb

Postby TomE » Tue 22.01.2008, 00:50

Hope it's OK to post someone else's event - if not, I'm sure you'll let me know!

The SELOC folks are organising a Sunday early morning run on 3 Feb from Pease Pottage services (M23/A23 near Crawley) on country roads over the Downs to Eastbourne for a fry up breakfast.

The last SELOC event on first Sunday of Jan had 75+ cars, mostly Elises and Exiges plus the odd Caterham and Porsche, but only ONE Elan - me! It was my first SELOC event: the people were friendly, the driving sensible (at least in my newbie group), a great route, huge breakfast and quite a sight with all the cars on the beach: pics below.

It would be great if any Sussex, Surrey, Kent or further afield Elans wanted to join in. There are 35+ signed up so far. Only downside is the 7.30am start, but at least the roads are quiet. It's an MSA approved event so you need to be registered with SELOC (no cost involved) and book onto the event. Links below (2nd/3rd ones only accessible to members):

Event booking
Event discussion and route info

If you're in the Eastbourne area and just want to come along for the breakfast about 9.30am, that's fine too.

Tis indeed a 944 S2, very tidy car. The guy has an Elise too but decided to bring the Porsche along as he'd only just got it. He got plenty of abuse from his Lotus-driving mates though! At least the Caterham driver did deliberately park away from the group so that people could take "look at all the Lotuses" pics.

I wonder if Dico was thinking of taking his 944 turbo to Donny to show his Lotus-driving mates. :!: well ya never know.

Hey-Dave Eds, you still cracking up mate? or you ok now.
