Check the belt tension first. Consider the rear wheel bearings as well, it can be difficult to tell where bearing noise is actually coming from.

Following on from what Alan has said..........

I had my timing belt change a couple of months ago and the muppetts tightend it up too tight. It was ok when cold but when the engine heated up the whining started, so I put a gag in Rach's mouth but the whining was still there.

Took it back to them and they loosend it off, all is now well.

Just a thought as you have 68k on the clock so it must have had a cam belt latley.

Thanks guys for u`r kind words, its a bloody good car just a shame about the winding, it only does this on the move so can`t see it being a belt. I`m worried about driving it, if i get time tomo`s i`ll take it to the local garage and get it up on the ramp, wheels of ground and run the car to see were the noise is coming from.

nchase,
I didn`t have time to soicalise, as i went in dico`s truck and he was pushed for time on his little tacho LMAO ;D

See u all at Donny.

Took me a while to find this thread.
Well it`s been a long time since i started the engine in Pinky 1, had to join the oil cooler pipes together, stick some oil in her and put the garden hose in the expansion tank as the raditator was kinda leaking

. Can`t believe it she started 1st time and no check engine light and sound better than pinky II, so i`ve recorded the engine running on the camera just incase i ever sell the engine.
I have now dropped the engine and box and stripped the front. here`s a few pic`s.

Monty, Stage one completed, I've 'found' the thread and got it visible again, I now need to fix the pagination.

Well it`s just been over 3 years since the lost of Pinky

so it`s about time i gave this rusty relic a sending off. Started cutting the body in half, next step is to have it 4 pieces and off to the dump she will go.

Jay
I'd take the rear panel fastener uprights of first mate (if they're intact - they look it).

Sy, which rear fastners do you mean?
Mine you it`s to late now as most of Pinky is now at the rubbish tip

Just got 2 pieces to dump and that`ll be the end of her

So Dico and I have been busy today.

... too late, I meant the two grey pillars with clips that the hood cover deck fastens on to.

The part where the holes are is metal which is shaped like this ] so goes top and bottom but not on the impact side

#4 is not metal. There`s also a couple of layers of Fiberglass.
Neve checked #3 but i think that is metal as thats for the seat mounts.
