my mate wont make 'spares'.......
if you want a set he'll make em but to aboid wasting time setting everything up he's said that a min batch run of 5 is the way he will do it..
so provided that 5 or more people want to do it all at the same time its not a problem

cheers

finally got some numbers back
shipping to the US for a complete pair of wishbones is looking like £85 (approx......as I only had 1 bone available to weigh)
that appears to be the best price at the mo but it is a tracked service rather than a surface mail thing that isnt and is scheduled for 15 days +
let me know......
also guys........have spoken to my mate and lotus have been intouch with him.....by the sounds of it he may well be the next supplier to lotus for these bits and as such these will not be available direct from him but will have to be bought through lotus (back at the factory) at their price of £365 + vat (approx £430 each).......I suggest that it may be an idea to get the 'not just yet' list moving sooner rather than later...just a heads up
cheers

Chris,

if you travel to Donington and could get them in your hand, it would be cheap to put them as "extra baggage" on the plane ride home! :-D

Doug,
I wish I could. I'm hoping the wife and I can make a space-a trip to Europe and the UK sometime before too long. She's very jealous that our 20 year old son is going to Greece for a few weeks this Summer at the invite of a young lady whose mother is greek, so she has a home there. I'm certain, though, that I need at least one wishbone replaced long before that ever happens. I have one that's rusted through already.

You'd think that I would have some contacts in the Air Force at Mildenhall or something that could load them on a military flight for me, but I can't think of any. Anyway, since one wishbone from DBE is $500 US, plus shipping, 485 GBP for two (including shipping) is actually cheaper than two from DBE. I think I figured the total right. I did read Gareth right that a pair of wishbones is 400 GBP, right? Did that include bushes? The DBE price does.

Gareth, let me know if/when there is a cut off date for the 'not just yet' list please.
I'm dithering, but probably will have a pair. Just don't want to commit at the mo.

Any possibility of your man manufacturing the fronts?
I know Steph mentioned her bloke was looking into it...... But then I also know Steph ;-)

:wtf:

Can`t believe that Lotus have got involved  what a waste off finding a different supplier

Is it me or is this just been a F**cking waste of time :? This should of been kept to the LEC community and not for putting money in to the Lotus parts departments for doing absolutley nothing to help the future of the M100.

Why can`t the supplier at least let LEC deal direct?

My brother had to wait 10 weeks for Koni shocks from Lotus for his Elise, as they were unavailable from any dealer.

Koni had them in stock but were not allow to sell to him direct because of their arrangement with Lotus

Surely if Lec'ers agree to pay him what Lotus are offering per side, they will still be cheaper than from Lotus.

monty
I guessing the problem was that it started with a whole host of people wanting them which was not a problem.....however the guy has spent ages on this project and was happy to do this for 20 to 25 people......
when the price came out despite being almost half the price of the lotus bits people changed their minds........
put it this way...if youd have invested £5000 or £6000 in making something on the basis that say 25 people wanted them and then when it came to it 80% pulled out how would you best try to recoup your money??????
might I aslo mention that this is not a definate yet as its still under discussion......(the possibility of it going to lotus was also mentioned about 4 or 5 months ago)......
cheers
