Well if the one on ebay is the same then it's less than half the price you paid for yours

So i would think that'll be a good enough reason
More alternatives the better

Mine is a lot cheaper than ploughing into the back of a car, while I wait for a BMC to arrive at a bargain price!
I use my M100 all the time, so it was a question of buying a part and (paying someone else for) fitting it.
If you have time, it maybe worth finding an upgrade? I'd be interested for the Fast Cat.

I`m in no rush to buy one (money is tight at the mo as i`ve got other parts to pay for

) but next time i do the head gasket (cause i`m sure i must be due one

) think i`ll change it as my brake pedal is softer than stock but don`t know if thats just down to the 4 pot calipers.

I would expect so, more fluid is moving to fill those pots and it's a small cylinder, I want to go to AP's but seriously doubt the cylinder has got enough in it. There's too much pedal travel for me, with the original callipers!
I want to upgrade the whole system. If you are going to replace it anyway, then it's the perfect opportunity!

Forgot to mention, another reason is my N/S front always locks up 1st and i know candles has the same problem

Wouldn`t mine uprading but need to find ou what other model is the same design but with a bigger piston/cylinder
Anyways here`s a couple of pic`s of old pinky1`s BMC, it does look like it`s a sealed unit

let me know if you want any more pics

Yeh, I agree!
Maybe it requires a servo change too?

Monty,
is that a seal or a cirlip on the mating face behind the white grease?

On my TR8 the guy at the Lucas/Girling store that used to be here xrefed the BMC to one from an SD1. It bolted right-in but I had to change the brake-pipes as the BMC 'outs' were the male/female opposite. The cylinder was massively larger and I only needed to tap the pedal; hardly any pedal movement at all was required. He needed only the number from the BMC to xref it.
What is the make & number(s) on the pictured BMC?

Well that'd be awesome. As Monty says, my NSF wheel always locks first, and seeing as I have the car three feet in the air with the steering rack hanging out, it has to be a good time to try a new one!

Mr Specky
I`ve manage to remove the inners, the seal at the end is hiding a clip but it was difficult to remove. Another thing is i`m quite supprised how clean it was inside and the seals look in great condition so i`d be supprised if many of these fail
These are the Numbers/letters stamped on the underside of the BMC

Looks promising Monty
According to my Delphi catalogue Opel / Vauxhall part number 558107 = Delphi LM50087 = Lucas PMH 392
All have Dia 22.2 bore
Listed as:
Cavalier 2.0i (code EF without ABS) '88-'95
Vectra A 2.0i (code EF without ABS) '92-'95
I'll see if I can get a price from the local Partco or Andrew Page

I`ve looked through RockAutos and it`s possible these are what were looking for as the bore looks correct 7/8" = 22.22mm

BECK/ARNLEY Part # 0728751

Monty, I think the part numbers from the golden gate Lotus site were taken from the first post I put up here at the start of this thread. I'm now worried that the threads on some of the ports are wrong even though its otherwise the same.
In short those numbers may NOT offer an easy bolt on solution.... If you can confirm the original master cylinder has 2xM10 & 2xM12 fittings then they are probably ok, if not then its back to the Vauxhall/Lucas parts
It takes 43 muscles to frown and 17 to smile, but it doesn't take any to sit on your arse with a blank look on your face.
