New clutch required!!

what make, model year do you do the search on? just that IIRC the stock one is 215mm but i could be wrong

Try and hold fire and have it confirmed its the right part, you don't want to do it twice.
Just one pointer, the clutch is a b@stard to line up, or at least mine seemed to be. Lotus supply a specific tool for the job, though there are probably cheaper alternatives out there.
One more pointer, search for the thread discussing the Redline MTL gear oil. You may as well change to this whilst you're at it.

I`ve just had a measure of my stock clutch plate and it`s approx 226mm so it does look like its the right one.

There was someone who bought one from rockautos but had problems with fitting but he now thinks his clutch was botched with a different clutch all together. He may still have it and may sell it.

Thanks for that, just ordered some Hispecs and brake hoses for the fronts too so looks like good a chance to do afew things at once.

1.Replace clutch/bearing/plate
2.Replace oil and air filter
3.Replace gearbox/engine oil
4.Replace Front discs calipers and pads
5.Replace brake hoses
6.Replace dot 4 fluid
7.Fit short shift kit

After that I may be able to go out for a drive!!

Right been out in the garage today to make a start.

Drained engine and gearbox oil
Drained brake fluid
Removed both drive shafts
Disconnected gear cables
Disconnected clutch cable

Im now awaiting parts so I can continue further, all is going ok at the moment though

Nearly a month on and the clutch is in mainly thanks to my brother, I am still awaiting delivery of the Hi specs.......

Much to my horror it seemed I needed a new front lower wishbone arm too.

Heres the run down:

Completed so far:

New Clutch/pressure plate and bearing fitted
Replaced both lower and upper ball joints both sides.
Replaced offside lower front wishbone
Fitted goodridge s/s hoses.
replaced engine/gearbox oil
new oil filter
Replaced brake pipes along rear wishbone both sides
Front calipers and discs removed.......(dam where are those Hispecs)

Still to do:

Fit Hispec brake kit
Bleed brakes
fit short shift kit

When the brakes do turn up I should be on the road within 2 hours or so!!
