One of the chaps from Classic Team Lotus gave me Gwen's card at Donington as I was admiring some retrimming she had done on his Elise interior, he was pretty clear that you got factory standard but not at factory prices. I'm in the market for getting my Elise seats retrimmed at some stage.

Paul, the problem is that if you leave her e-mail address up on an open forum like this, the b****rds who bombard people with spam have automatic harvester programs that collect such easily recognisable addresses. I made the mistake of posting one of mine up and it's getting about 100 junk e-mails per day! Changing the e-mail address so it is recognisable to humans but hopefully not to computer programs is the least you should do.

I've also added her details to the Wiki.

While I don't for a second doubt the skills mentioned of everybody mentioned above, isn't it just as important to have the foam of the seat base replaced at the same time as fitting new covers? How is anyone outside of Lotus going to have access to those?

Not a problem for my Elise seats and I understand she can do the new Probax foam. Take your point on Elan seats though, however given the background I'm sure she knows where to source all that is necessary.

Hi guys, this is my retrim. Only had it done about 14 months. Got them done at a place in Wellingborough by a guy who does Aston Martins.

They have been trimmed with Connely hide, with adjustable lumber support on the drivers side.

Well..
I've taken the plunge.
Dropped off the car at Bromsgrove Auto trimmers this morning to let them weave their magic on my existing 'bumble-bee' leather.

Carpets
Seats
Gators
Door Pockets
Door Cards

Pick up next Saturday so I'll be posting the before and after pics on here soon.
Some of you will dissapointed with my choice of 'safe' greys/blacks but that yellow is the reason I wear sunglasses when driving !

Has anyone just bought a lot of leather and let the female side of their equation (who currently is quite masterful at the sewing machine) make patterns to do their door cars, door carpet (upholster a cardboard cutout), shift boot, and that "triangular" metal cover under the windshield?
Would seem a lot cheaper than paying a pro.

Sorry for the delay.

I had my drivers seat repaired in May by the guys in Bromsgrove.
I was very pleased, they
replaced the damaged panel,
replaced the foam,
rewelded the broken seat,
Redied the two seats
and gave it somthing to eat.

all for ................... wait for it .............. £65 all in.

Heavens! That's quite a bargain, to my mind. The seats come out looking wonderfully sorted but not brand new. Exactly the sort of look you'd want in a well-tended car you can drive (not a restored trailer queen.) Good job :smt023
