The F-Cat is not back yet so it's not likely it will be drivable by CC

Phil,

If you want a bbq - i'll sort it out (again!).

I'll even remember the vegitarian option ;-)

(Meat for the rest of us  )
Dave

Just the one now, but this one's mine! - and it will be finished eventually..... - but also temporary custodian of a project until it is finished enough for Angie to drive it

...oh, and a 2006 Freelander destined for the jungles of The Gambia - 4500 miles across roads, desert and tracks - what could possibly go wrong?

We may not be in the elan :(

Took it for a re-test today :( :(

CO levels now okay :-) ..........

.........hydrocarbons waaaay too high.........

smoke from the exhaust :( - running poorly (#4 not at all!)

....white smoke :( :( .......

looks like HGF (again) -

still deciding whether to do the HG or swap the whole lump for the one on the drive and then re-build at leisure

Anyone know how long it really takes to do a straight swap?
Is it easier to do just engine, or as a whole lump with the gearbox??

I did back-to-back engine and gearbox changes last year. The second one took two of us three days which included swapping ancillaries (including clutches) from engine to engine.
