ESSEX MEET

Postby Steve A » Mon 02.06.2008, 17:03

:-D I'm proposing a fairly regular meeting in ESSEX at "The Lodge Country Inn " (check out their web site).
It's got good parking, good food , beer and it's easy to get to/from ,plus it's in the middle of nowhere 8) .
I've used it before with another club, it's spot on 8) .
Not sure when it should be it's down to you chaps , I'm just fishing for interest
Maybe Sunday dinner times?
or mid week evernings ?

Im 2 miles down the road from this boozer and would say sunday lunch during the summer you would be fortunate to get parked at the lodge - it is literally overun when the sun comes out. However they do have regular weeknight local car club meetings most weeks so they'd be no problems there

If we meet at 12 it shouldn't be a problem, I used to go there with the Westfield crowd and we used to park on average around 10 cars together, there's a gravel area on the right after the pond.
I know what you mean though it can get very busy in the summer, the best ploy is to get there early and order your grub , then your sorted
If people prefer an everning meet then that's ok, we can alway's suck it and see 8)

To be honest creephedge has gone a bit soft now that they have resurfaced it and taken most of that wicked adverse camber out that caused many a motor to under or oversteer off (particulary when farmer giles tractor had left an inch of wet mud on the surface), still needs respect mindyou especially in winter but cast me out as a heathen... i dont enjoy driving the elan down it anymore - too much bloody traffic these days which really heightens just how wide the elan is down a country back road
Back to business though, tuesdays through thursdays good as are sundays for me and look forward to meeting some local elaners
