Droopy Visor Syndrome

Looked in the archives, and tried Doug's masking tape solution.  Apparently a previous owner had done this, as I found some tape in there.   Anyway there is some still droop after applying tape.  Anyone know if the updated mounting spigots (PN B100V0290H) are still available? Thanks.

I cured my droops by "sleeving" the arms with the suitable size shrink tubing and haven't had a problem since.

My driver's side visor droops too. Removed the spigots and peeped into the hole to see that the plastic insert is cracked.  Used a blade to slit the edge of the visor; opened it up.  There is a white flat plastic with a semicircle clip to provide the tension.  Anyone know of any spares as the plastic is broken.  <br><br>I fixed one side which is half broken by first, taping wup with reinforced fiber 3M tape, then cliping a #2 folding paper clip over the whole part.  Very tight and should be enough to hold up the visor. As for the broken one, did same treatment just so it will remain functional even if loose.  Putting off the super glue to seal up the edge of the pouch until I can find the replacement plastic clips or find a better solution. ::)

Okay, I can confirm that my method works for those with cracked/broken-off internal white plastic clips. <br><br>Addition is I had to also cellotape the arms to get it real tight.  Tried shrink wrap but the the shrink tape I had was of the thick variety (too thick) and I had to revert to scotch tape. <br><br>I don't know how long this will last but the next time I will make sure I wrap a couple of layers with the 3M fibre tape (1 inch width) instead of just a semi-wrap with a short piece.     [smiley=cheers.gif] [smiley=cheers.gif]

When I bought my Elan, both visors were in the boot (that's trunk to you), where they have been ever since.<br><br>No doubt it is sunnier in your perts of the world, but I can't think of an occasion when I have missed them.

The only issue with mine is when roof down driving at high speeds (60mph+) when crosswinds blow into the car and flap them down right in my line of sight. <br><br>To resolve this I used some velcro on the outside corner, this is enough to keep them pinned up until needed. (velcro - hook & loop, similar to what holds that plastic triangle on by the mirror on the inside of the door)

I loved the M100 since they were new but had never driven one until I bought one last year. Great Driving Experience, but the most annoying item in the car was driver's side sun visor fluttering. This happens because the visors are moved more that other cars because you need to lower them for the hood latches. I cured mine by two pieces of black velcro on the visor and top rail. This really keeps the visor out of the way and is invisible most of the time.

Velcro didn't do me any good - the damn sum melted it and left an icky mess on the back of the visor. I wrestled with the idea of elastic and poppers for a while, then suddenly thought of a really simple solution:
