Wow! What a response!

I'm glad Kingsborne use soft, collapsable packging. I also hope everyone above understands the wires will be delivered at Hethel 60th Anniversary. I'm afraid I'm not able to do shipping. If you won't be there in person, please make arrangements with someone who is coming or remove from this group buy, just so I can keep an accurate tally.

Doug,
You need to be carefull with customs etc, don`t know what there like in the USA but here the Airlines are very strict on laugage weight and will charge if over

They may only allow one suitcase too, so you might have to wear all your clothes on the the plane

Fortunately for me, this group buy is on plug wires, not brake calipers

By the time I fly, I'll have reached premium status in my chosen airline's frequent flyer program, so no I don't have to pay for my 1st checked bag. I also pack very light and this is only a 3 day trip, so I might even get away with carryon only.
Can anyone tell me what UK customs rules are for gifts

being brought into the country?

Internally or externally?
Aside from a big tub of Vaseline, a certain Colorado mule appears to have great success with the 'bore the arse off them telling them every last detail about the Elan' tactic. I once managed to avoid ~£100 duty when returning into the UK after working for 8 weeks in the US by emptying the unwashed laundry from my cases while I 'looked for my cheque book'.
Seriously, if you're stopped, I wouldn't have thought you'd have any problem even if they find a number of 'demonstration goods' for the LEC stand at the great Hethel bash. If you are concerned about the numbers involved though, perhaps you could find someone else to share the load with. Looks to me like your Hethel bar bill is going to be pretty small!

Payment is easiest in cash and/or meals and/or beers whilst at Hethel. You can pay me when you pick up the wires. I'm thinking I may need to cut this off sooner than 1 Sept. I didn't expect such a happy group of takers. Gotta fit this in the luggage! Lucikly, my chosen airline doesn't fly through Terminal 5!

Dave
Just the one now, but this one's mine! - and it will be finished eventually..... - but also temporary custodian of a project until it is finished enough for Angie to drive it
...oh, and a 2006 Freelander destined for the jungles of The Gambia - 4500 miles across roads, desert and tracks - what could possibly go wrong?

The above entry was the list before JackoNicko added himself. If this is correct, the new list should be:
1. Monty - Red
2. Gee0 - Yellow
3. Geoff - Red
4. Nobby - Red
5. Gazza - Red
6. Pinky - Red
7. A B Munro - Blue

Jacko, looks like you didn't read to the end of the thread before camping on. Your post is in the old format. If you added to the last entry you could see, or Pinky, if you can't see Paul P's addition, please place a post in the "FORUM NOT ELAN HELP" section. I think we may have a malfunctioning server eating posts.
